NewYork-Presbyterian seeks a Development Associate based at its brand new corporate headquarters near Grand Central Station in Midtown Manhattan. This position will work closely with a Major Gifts Officer to help secure funding for the Hospital's priority projects, including the Alexandra Cohen Hospital for Women and Newborns. This role is integral to our success in researching, cultivating, soliciting, tracking, and stewarding donors and donor prospects. Duties include: developing and maintaining tracking systems for thank-you letters, proposals and/or events to ensure smooth and efficient follow-up; ensuring appropriate stewardship of all gifts received, including drafting acknowledgment letters, receipting, and recognition; drafting briefings, fundraising reports and other written material as required; assisting with scheduling key meetings for senior members of the team, answering phones as necessary, and responding to inquiries. Performs other job related duties as assigned. In order to be successful, this individual should be able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; fundraising database experience, such as Raiser's Edge, a plus;
Strong organizational and planning skills with excellent attention to detail
Interest in building a non-profit development career and gaining exposure to fundraising
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
