What you will enjoy doing* (DUTIES)

  • Aerodynamic design and analysis of all components of compressors and turbines using 1D meanline, Quasi-3D, and 3D Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), flow path and blade design. Experimental verification with lab and full-scale testing.

  • Develop new design concepts and approaches to continuously improve design deliverables and capabilities. Provide company-wide technical support and consulting services covering fluid dynamic, structural, modal, FSI (Fluid structure Interaction), and fluid dynamic coupled chemical reactions in support of business development, R&D, operation, and engineering activities.

  • Design tool development; as well as development of computational methods Develop Genetic Algorithms automatic design optimization methods for aerodynamic design of individual compressor and turbine components as well as integrated compressor and turbine aerodynamic systems.

  • Participate in laboratory and full-scale experiments, prepare reports for engineering and design personnel. Ensure satisfactory static and dynamic stability and control characteristics of commercial systems.

  • Participate in and approve aerodynamic technical proposals for internal and external customers.

  • Develop and perform aerodynamic upgrade solutions for existing equipment for cost reduction and productivity improvement. Remote work is permissible within a commutable distance from the worksite.

What makes you great (REQTS)

  • Must have a PhD degree or foreign equivalent in Aerospace Engineering or a related field.

  • Coursework/graduate research experience must include: Aerodynamics and Fluid Dynamics analysis in 1 dimensional, 2 dimensional, and 3 dimensional analysis experience; Turbomachinery aerodynamic design and analysis; Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD); Experimental aerodynamics (both prototype and full scale testing); Structural aerodynamic measurements; Aerodynamic stability and control; Fluid structure interaction; Pre-and-post stall aerodynamic behavior experience (dynamic stability); Reaction with combustion Fluid dynamics; High temperature gas dynamics; Aerodynamic tool development for design and analysis purposes; and Two-phase thermodynamic and fluid mechanic behavior.
