The Development & Events Manager is fully committed to the mission of Habitat for Humanity as set forth in the affiliate covenant and works with the Development Director, in collaboration with all staff members, to inspire and engage participants in the organization's mission. The Development & Events Manager will be responsible for delivering several fundraising events, including signature event Tool Belts and Bow Ties, and will work to build partnerships, maintain and nurture key relationships, and further other cultivation goals of the Development Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PERFORMANCE AREAS - Other duties may be assigned
Execute and manage HFHS events, including the annual gala, Tool Belts and Bow Ties.
Manage all ground breaking ceremonies, kickoffs and home dedications.
Manage department and event timelines, and coordinate with key stakeholders.
Identify event, campaign, and communication requirements and expectations from key stakeholders.
Come up with innovative ways to raise awareness of affordable housing and poverty challenges, and turn those into financial opportunities for growth of the organization.
Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to creatively promote HFHS's events and fundraising opportunities.
Liaise with vendors, exhibitors, and stakeholders during the event planning process to ensure everything is in order and adheres to HFHS brand standards.
Management of events may include, but is not limited to, vendor bookings, sponsorship cultivation, set-up, tear down, post event follow up reporting and thank yous.
Prepare and maintain event budgets and post event audits to determine ROI.
Management of silent auction, including managing the online silent auction platform and collecting donations.
Keep up-to-date CRM records on donor / prospect actions for the Development Team, to demonstrate progress toward goals and track collaborations with others.
Use CRM software to prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports. Use CRM to evaluate the effectiveness of cultivation and solicitation strategies.
Maintain relationships with donors through correspondence via CRM software and other modes of communication as appropriate.
Work with HFHS team to ensure meaningful donor recognition for individuals and organizations.
Answer general Development phone inquiries.
Provide professional assistance and interaction with donors (via phone, computer and face-to-face.)
Prepare gift acknowledgement and donor prospecting letters.
Provide fundraising document support for committee meetings and prospecting visits.
As appropriate, provide prospect research for Development Team and Executive Director.

Understand and follow detailed written and oral instructions
Ability to understand and utilize computers and other technology
Working knowledge of office machines, multi-line phone system, email, and web page updates
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
3+ years of Event Planning and Fundraising experience
Comfort with cold calling and soliciting for sponsorships
Competitive candidates will be self-starters who are willing to jump in and take initiative of all tasks and develop processes where needed
Valid and clean drivers license
Knowledge of CRM software preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred
PHYSICAL CONTEXT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to see, read documents, and use a computer
Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with team members, partner homebuyers, volunteers, and the general public
Must be able to sit for long periods of time
Must be able to move about the work area, at job sites, and at community events
Must be able to type and use equipment and electronic devices
Must be able to occasionally climb, stoop, or kneel to file documents and remove supplies or other items from the storage room
Some evening and weekend communications and events required
