The Development and Alumni Relations team at Berkeley Haas engages and cultivates alumni, parents, friends, corporations and foundations to advance the vision and mission of the school, inviting these key constituencies to provide volunteer leadership and make philanthropic investments in support of the school's students, faculty and programs. The Development team of major gift and annual gift officers cultivates prospective donors, both nationally and internationally, to inspire transformational gifts in support of Berkeley Haas and provides staff support for high-level volunteer groups, such as the Berkeley Haas Advisory Board. With 42,000 living alumni, the Alumni Relations team develops and builds greater awareness for career services, lifelong learning, and networking resources to support the engagement, learning, and connectedness of Berkeley Haas alumni.

Responsibilities

Consults with end users to identify data and reporting needs. Creates queries and generates reports.

  • Performs data analysis and develops data driven insights to inform strategy related to fundraising and engagement goals using Tableau and other tools.

  • Determines better ways to solve complex reporting problems by questioning the status quo.

  • Works with diverse stakeholders throughout the department and university.

Develops, prepares and tests reports.

  • Works with manager and end-users to ensure accuracy of data and reporting. Conducts quality assurance testing on reports. Reviews reports for quality and accuracy.

Writes queries, prepares and cleans data for complex (multidimensional and multisource data) business analysis including analysis of fundraising, alumni engagement, and event data.

Assists in identifying and resolving data and system errors and discrepancies.

Performs segments of quality assurance planning and testing.

Participates in end user training ensuring user competence, data access, and optimal performance of BI tools such as Tableau, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Excel and Google Sheets.

Participates on cross-functional teams to address business intelligence processes and services.

Required Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of business intelligence functions and analytics.

  • Working knowledge of relevant internal databases, BI applications and tools. Documents and produces reports in Tableau.

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-resolution skills.

  • Detail oriented, with demonstrated organizational skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrating skills in conveying complex information in a clear, concise manner to both technical and non-technical parties.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with professional and technical staff.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating a desire to promote diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging to establish and maintain positive & professional working relationships with colleagues, students and team members.

  • Familiarity with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and/or SQL-based relational databases.

Salary & Benefits

This is a 1-year, 100% full-time (40 hrs a week) non-exempt, bi-weekly paid position, with the possibility of extension. Hourly pay is commensurate with experience within the range of $35.21 - $44.59. As a 1-yr contract role, this position is eligible for full UC Benefits.
