We are seeking a Project Analyst to support the Company's project development, commercial, and financing activities. This position will assist with the full prospecting and development of storage and/or solar power projects sourced through acquisition and/or organic opportunities in target markets of the US. Key activities will range from excel-based financial modeling of the Company's renewable energy projects, supporting project development activities including land acquisition and permitting to conceptual design, planning, securing interconnection and commercial offtake opportunities in collaboration with both internal and external team resources. This position requires a candidate whose education background is focused on energy, engineering, and/or business/finance from an accredited college or university. This position will report directly to the Director of Finance.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Excel-based financial modeling of the Company's renewable energy projects
Ensure project-specific financial assessments capture all corresponding development, permitting and operational cost assumptions to support accurate financial modeling
Perform sensitivity analysis on financial models to determine key drivers, optimal financial structures, and financial rates of return
Compile and maintain auditable support for financial model assumptions, working with internal and external engineering teams
Provide and create investment, financing and other presentations
Create and support project development plans to meet Oriden's objectives and implement the plans to manage projects within time, quality and budget parameters
Create and maintain project updates and progress reports; identify risks and possible solutions for discussion with team members
Prioritizing, coordinating, reviewing and tracking development deliverables with internal teams and external consultants.
Reviewing and managing project contracts with vendors and consultants.
Utilizing internal reporting tools and forms to track timelines and deliverables.
Research solar and storage energy markets and competition on an ongoing basis

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION:

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor of Science in engineering, business, or other technically/commercially-focused degrees are welcome. Strong academic record is a must. Prior internships/experience in energy industry a plus but not a requisite.
Mathematical Skills:Strong mathematical is preferred with ability to work with concepts such as probability and statistical interference as well as apply concepts like proportions, ratios, percentages, etc.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to quickly understand the basics of a variety of subjects relating to solar energy and storage; including resource studies, environmental studies, transmission issues, public relations, public policy, sales, and engineering.
Computer Skills:To perform this job successfully, an individual must demonstrate advance proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Project Management: Competent in the application of standard project-management control tools and techniques including project planning, cost management, risk management, progress measurement, and control / reporting of project information. Experience managing simultaneous activities under time deadlines. Detail-oriented, resourceful, and able to manage multiple and shifting priorities. Self-starter who can independently complete tasks ahead of schedule.
Demonstrated team player with a 'can-do' attitude, attention to detail, strong work ethic and a drive to deliver results is a must. Excellent problem solving skills and quick reaction time in a changing environment. Flexible, smart, analytical, and personable. Self-starter who can independently complete tasks ahead of schedule.
