Responsibilities

The Development Accountant will collaborate across all levels of the Accounting, Construction, Design and Development teams and support all aspects of development accounting, including the following:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly development funding requisitions

  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and workpapers to support financial reporting

  • Participate in internal and investor reporting preparation and review meetings

  • Compile information and financial statements for auditors

  • Support system improvement initiatives, including streamlining and automating processes

  • Assist with special projects and ad hoc requests

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of accounting experience with a strong understanding of fundamental accounting concepts; public accounting experience with CPA preferred

  • Advanced excel skills and ability to quickly adapt to various accounting systems

  • Team player with a "can do" attitude to support team members as needed

  • Superior organizational skills, must be detailed oriented and have the ability to multitask

  • A mature professional with excellent judgment, communication and interpersonal skills

  • The ideal candidate is a self-motivated person who thrives in a dynamic work environment and demonstrates a flexible and adaptable work style that responds quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines
