Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time, CWA position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Note: Those non-faculty employees in the "NE" category of employment may have irregular or variable work hours. The compensatory time policy for NL employees below applies to "NE" employees up to 40 hours per week. Beyond 40 hours, the overtime policy for fixed workweek employees applies (i.e., rate of time and one-half in payment or compensatory time).

SALARY:

CWA - Grade P21 - Steps 1-6

$62k - $76k

Internal Applicant Salary will be based on Union Contract Negotiations

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Director of Applications in the Information Technology Services (ITS) area at the College, is responsible for independently analyzing software requirements across campus units, developing and deploying system interfaces and working with campus units on automating data driven reports. Does related work as required.

Examples of Duties

DUTIES:

  • Analyze software requirements across campus units and translate functional needs into technical designs for research, implementation, integration and deployment of college information systems.

  • Develop and deploy system interfaces strictly following standard practices in programming and software development.

  • Work with campus units to develop and deploy automated data driven reports.

  • Deploy in non-ITS campus units in rotation as an ITS Unit liaison to analyze, prioritize and address that units technology initiatives.

  • Develop custom solutions using Python or JavaScript frameworks and implement testing as well as error handling.

  • Develop technical documentation, training documentation and contingency plans including reliable backup and restore procedures for custom solutions.

  • Act as a Technical Liaison for Admin HelpDesk resolving Ellucian Banner and third-party solutions.

  • Serve on standing and ad hoc committees.

  • Keep technical skills up to date via online-learning courses, documentation and various other methods.

  • Perform data processing, installation and maintenance of application programs, designing and implementing graphical user interfaces, delivering Customer Relationship Management (CRM) strategies and solutions.

  • Job duties assigned may require physical work locations be in areas other than ITS.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

NOTE: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute experience on a year for year basis.

EXPERIENCE:

Two (2) years of experience in one or combination of the following: data processing, installation and maintenance of application programs, technical support, and/or design and preparation of programs.

One (1) year of experienceutilizing tools such as Node.js, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, PL/SQL, SQL Plus, Evisions Argos, Mongo DB, Banner 9 and Agile Development.

Proficiency in content management systems, Python, and DevOps is preferred.
