Skill: Mainframe Developer

• Provide an architectural framework for information system development, maintenance, and enhancement efforts.

• Design, implement, and maintain the organization's application systems and/or IT infrastructure.

• Work closely with Product owners to develop road maps for Mainframe applications to achieve milestones.

• Creation of High and Detail level designs for Mainframe Applications involving Common Business Oriented Language (COBOL), Job Control Language (JCL), Database2(DB2), (Information Management System) IMS database, Message Queues(MQ) and Web services.

• Applies knowledge of programming techniques to mentor developers and review code when required.

• Provides specifications, using flowcharts and diagrams, into sequence of detailed instructions and logical steps for coding into language that can be processed by Mainframe and Distributed framework.

• Understand user, process requirements, and ensure those requirements can be achieved through high quality deliverables.

• Monitor technological advancements to ensure that solutions are continuously improved, supported, and aligned with industry and company standards as well as emerging business requirements.

• Understand the interactions between systems, applications, and services within the environment, and evaluate the impact of changes or additions.

Skills Summary:

• Strong Mainframe development skills in COBOL, DB2, JCL, IMS, MQ with minimum 10 years of experience.

• Prepare High level technical design documents as per Business requirement document.

• Translate technical details into business terminology to bridge gaps between clients and IT.

• Utilize source control software to maintain integrity of production software, including prior versions of code.

• Follow defined Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Change Control processes.

• Assist in research and issue resolution for processing of business data.

• Design, Code, test and maintain applications.

• Peer review code and technical documents for other team members.

• Assist Quality Assurance teams in testing applications.

• Participate in On-call rotation to resolve applications failures.

• Proficient with AGILE and SCRUM methodology and ability to work in a team environment.

• Provide leadership, expertise and solutions on complex initiatives including all projects and maintenance work.
