Developer Advisor / Sr. (Java/ Devops)

Location: Mason OH / Richmond VA/ Atlanta GA / Indianapolis IN

  • This role is posted as a job family. The salary and title will be determined based on the candidate's experience and expertise.

The ideal candidate in this role will be responsible to design, develop, test and deploy Micro Services and / or API's that serve Anthem's internal and external customer application needs. The candidate will process intake requests, analyze customer needs and determines right course of action, by updating or building new API's. Reviews and contributes to Enterprise API architecture. Interacts with peers and business consumers on programs / projects, explains overall API strategy and recommends solutions adhering to that strategy. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintains active relationships with customers to determine business requirements and leads requirements gathering meetings.

  • Owns the change request process and may coordinate with other teams as necessary.

  • Develops and owns list of final enhancements.

  • Develops and defines application scope and objectives and prepares technical and/or functional specifications from with programs will be written.

  • Performs technical design reviews and code reviews.

  • Ensures unit test is completed and meets the test plan requirements, system testing is completed and system is implemented according to plan.

  • Assesses current status and supports data information planning.

  • Coordinates on-call support and ensures effective monitoring of system.

  • Maintains technical development environment.

  • Mentors others and may lead multiple or small to medium sized projects.

  • Facilitates group sessions to elicit complex information on requirements clarification, design sessions, code reviews and troubleshooting issues.

  • Supports vendor evaluation.

  • Ability to refine business requirements and translate them into technical designs and develop code.

Requires BA/BS degree in related field or technical institute training; 5 or more years related experience; multi-platform experience; , expert level experience with business and technical applications, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Incumbent should also have the ability to mentor others, lead multiple small projects and provide troubleshooting support. Multi-dimensional required. Multi database and/or multi language preferred.

  • Strong development background in JAVA technologies

  • Ability to refine business requirements and translate them into technical designs and develop code

  • Well versed with Atlassian tools, GIT Hub, Bamboo and other DevOps tools

  • Sound knowledge of API's, Micro services architecture and hand-on development experience is a must

  • Any exposure to cloud migrations and cloud based API management is a plus

  • Knowledge of APIGEE and /or Data power is desired

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, expected

  • A decent understanding of DB's is sought, like, Oracle, SQL Server, Mongo DB etc.

  • Health Insurance domain knowledge and experience preferred

The Senior Advisor positions will require a well-rounded IT control and audit depth of knowledge, specifically in the area of SOX/SOC1/SOC2 audits. Work will also include pre-assessing any in-scope IT functions for new/expanded SOX/SOC1/SOC2 audits or compliance of new/migrated systems. The Senior Advisors will be key resources and also mentor junior members on subject matter knowledge and audit guidance within the team. They will also support the partnership with the IT/IS organization as part of the overall team focus. Basic position expectations include ensuring stability and compliance with audit and regulatory requirements/mandates. Mentors analysts and auditors in performing compliance audits. Primary duties may include but are not limited to: Performs interviews and asks questions to gather necessary to perform reviews and audits. Documents and tracks results. Monitors work of analysts and auditors and provides feedback to associates and management. Escalates issues to area management. Researches complex business and technical processes. Assesses risk of IT systems, operational processes and financial processes. Suggests process improvements through consultation with operations and finance staff. Responds to requests of internal and external auditors. Documents business processes dependent on information technology. Produces engagement planning, tests planning, documents findings, and defines appropriate remediation. Creates training documents. Delivers presentations to management. Analyzes results of specific or general work requests. Leads and executes engagement plan objectives. Provides status and reporting metrics. Resolves conflict and escalates issues. Responds to management inquiries. Creates tools to gather and retain information with ease to support audit team. * Requires BA/BS degree; 8 years experience in audit (information technology, operations or financial); or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background * Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and/or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certifications required * Additional preferred certifications include CISM, CIA, CISSP, CPA or CMA.
