Position Summary

Provide support to the I.T. Department in the areas of computer troubleshooting; report processing, hardware and software maintenance and training for the purpose of providing adequate computer services to all employees.

Duties and responsibilities

Maintain a help desk database program. Provide phone support of a technical nature to all Cooperative internal customers.

Troubleshoot computer, printer, virus and security problems. Troubleshoot for LAN users, solving routine log-in and configuration issues. Troubleshoot communications problems at district offices and work with third party support to resolve issues.

Design, develop, create and update web pages for company intranet. Manage and coordinate database development/technical programming with vendor. Convert documents into HTML or other web page language.

Consult and determine users needs and requirements for web pages and develop pages that meet those needs. Track computers and software, keeping a current inventory record of each computers serial number, memory, type, upgrades, and location. Track use of software programs and purchase sufficient copies.

Operate radio equipment as directed, abiding by the Federal Communication Commission and Bandera Electric rules and regulations. Prepare and distribute miscellaneous reports as required and ensure that all reports are timely compiled and delivered to the immediate supervisor. Cordially and efficiently handle and assist others in dealing with member/employee questions and complaints.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of 2 years computer operation and report writing experience; or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge. Intermediate knowledge of Windows networks, PCs, communications equipment and operating systems as they relate to system administration and maintenance. Intermediate knowledge of PC applications, Windows workstations and server, Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Office programs to assist users. Knowledge of Microsoft Access program for report writing in Cooperatives main application system. Knowledge of software tools to design and develop company web pages. Skill in performing basic mathematical computations. Skill in communicating with employees and vendors in order to diagnose computer problems. Ability to resolve basic system problems and data losses through research and investigation of documentation and drawing from past experience.
Must have basic knowledge of internal operations of a network computer system, microcomputer, and associated peripheral equipment. Must have basic knowledge of Windows networking systems. Must have valid Texas drivers license and related insurance.

Working conditions

Work primarily in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Working under time sensitive schedules and stressful deadlines should be expected.

Tobacco free, professional office environment. Some irregular hours that include nights, weekends and holidays may be necessary.

Physical requirements

Sedentary, sitting, walking, occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending, frequent near vision use for reading and computer use; frequent stressful conditions (cardiovascular).

QUALIFICATIONS * Current valid Texas Driver's License & current automobile insurance * Must have reliable transportation * Must be free of communicable diseases and open infectious wounds. * Must be able to work in a safe manner without direct supervision * Must be able to respond to emergency situations in a calm and effective manner * Must be able to handle various client care supplies such as dressings and equipment. * Must be able to push/pull various weights while performing tasks such as pushing client in wheelchair and transferring client. * Must be alert and able to identify hazards, should one occur, in order to avoid them, by reporting immediately, or if directed, to take corrective measures within the course and scope of employment.
