Compensation: $21-26/hr
Job Purpose
Opus Inspection is seeking a skilled Desktop Support Specialist to join our IT team. As a Desktop Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to our employees in resolving hardware and software issues related to their desktop and laptop computers. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of our computer systems and ensuring maximum user productivity.
Duties & Responsibilties
Provide first-line technical support to end users via phone, email, or in person, and resolve hardware and software issues related to desktop and laptop computers.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems, applications, and peripheral devices.
Set up and deploy new computers, laptops, and mobile devices for employees.
Assist in managing user accounts, permissions, and access rights in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Collaborate with the IT team to identify, evaluate, and implement technology solutions to enhance user experience and productivity.
Conduct regular maintenance and updates on computer systems to ensure optimal performance and security.
Perform hardware and software upgrades as required and maintain inventory of computer equipment and software licenses.
Document all technical issues, solutions, and processes to create a knowledge base for future reference and training purposes.
Provide user training and guidance on the effective use of hardware and software applications.
Adhere to IT best practices and security protocols to safeguard company data and systems.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience as a Desktop Support Specialist or in a similar technical support role.
Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems.
Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft Office 365, and other user account management systems.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Strong customer service orientation and the ability to work effectively with end-users at all levels of the organization.
Knowledge of network protocols, configurations, and troubleshooting is a plus.
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) is desirable.
