Primary/Essential Duties and

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

Manage and mentor a team of desktop support engineers; develop their customer

service and technical skills

Ensure sufficient hardware stock levels to meet day-to-day business needs (i.e. laptop

refresh, new hires, etc.)

Ensure annual laptop/desktop refresh is completed on-time and within budget

Manage asset allocation of all laptop/desktop computer assets

Drive efforts to provide world class end user support and improve user experience

Oversee the process for deployment, maintenance and support of all end user devices,

software and operating systems.

Manage Service Requests and incidents to ensure SLAs are met

Participate in Major Incident resolution and other ITSM roles as part of our ITSM

practices

Work with other IT organizations to handle incident resolution (infrastructure, security,

applications, database management, etc...)

Ensure standards and processes are followed according to compliance guidelines

Review and maintain status report/dashboard and analyze metrics in order to take

appropriate actions

Complete annual performance evaluations and 1:1 meetings to ensure staff is meeting

objectives and responsibilities

Coordinate and schedule staffing for normal business hour support, on-call and off-site

conferences

Other duties as assigned by Sr. Management

Required Qualifications:

(Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science or related field

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a service desk/desktop support

supervisor/manager role

Minimum of 3 years of experience with managing a medium to large size organization

Experience with the use of ServiceNow and ITIL processes

Extensive Experience supporting Microsoft, Apple and Linux operating systems

Experience with desktop imaging and deployment technologies (SCCM, JAMF, etc..)

Excellent organizational, project management and problem-solving skills

Exceptional interpersonal skills

VIEW JOBS 3/9/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-06-07T00:00 Overview Under general direction, the Desktop Support Specialist provides service through personal computer deployment, problem determination, user support and problem resolution for the NASCO desktop environment. Responsibilities include providing Tier 1 and 2 support (for pc hardware, pc software and printers), meeting defined service levels and key performance indicators. Specialists perform workstation management including software installation/updates, bios updates, firmware updates, and full desktop integration within the NASCO environment. Individuals work with other infrastructure personnel to learn about and implement desktop products/services, as well as track and report on NASCO infrastructure assets. Specialists communicate with Senior Desktop Support Specialist and IS Manager regarding the status of assigned projects and activities. Individual must complete tasks according to schedule and specifications. Individual must be precise yet flexible in service delivery; processes and tasks are subject to continuous feedback, improvement and refinement based on resources and customer needs. Responsibilities Essential Roles and Responsibilities: * Performs Tier 1 and 2 analysis of problems/outages and develops/implements solutions for on-site and remote users. Break/fix and service tickets are prioritized based upon established guidelines. Individual uses break/fix and service ticket queue for work intake and updates tickets based on established procedures. 50% * Performs workstation-based projects as assigned including installation of stand-alone and networked personal computers, peripherals and software for end users (provide desktop integration, delivery and deployment services to internal NASCO end users) 15% * Evaluates, schedules, and implements approved workstation upgrades and patches 10% * Installs and maintains software tools for image creation and management. Uses image management solution to install and update personal computers. 5% * Provides personal computer and peripheral functionality overview (basic training) to end users. 5% * Implements approved security policies based on industry best practices and direction from leadership 5% * Develops product documentation including system reports, technical and operational documentation, and status reports 4% * Creates and executes scripts and batch files 2% * Implements recommended/approved performance tuning solutions 2% * Creates change requests according to defined processes 2% Additional Roles and Responsibilities: * Follows established infrastructure procedures and policies. * Executes established NASCO Project Management Methodology for projects and deployments * Follows basic professionalism practices including, but not limited to, flexibility, timeliness, confidentiality, appearance, follow through and service delivery. * Accepts accountability and responsibility for deliverables. * Support NASCO business continuity activities for desktop products and services * Other duties as assigned by manager Qualifications * Knowledge of Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems (Windows 7, Windows 10) * Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (2013, 2010) * Solid working knowledge of personal computer desktop and laptop hardware and peripherals (Lenovo, IBM) * Basic troubleshooting and testing skills and procedures. * Experience installing, troubleshooting and fixing problems with software products including but not limited to the following: * Microsoft Window (multiple versions) * Microsoft Office Suite * Exchange/Outlook * Anti Virus * Diskkeeper * Mainframe Emulation Client * Laptop/Desktop Imaging software * Attention to detail * Excellent communication skills with peers and customers * Troubleshooting, follow-through, problem resolution abilities. * Ability to learn new technologies * Hands-on personal computer hardware and software installation, troubleshooting and repair. * Basic knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and Office products. * Basic familiarity with wireless networking and LAN/WAN topologies. * Minimum two (2) years experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting malfunctions with personal computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
