The Sr. Desktop Publisher is an integral member of our proposal development team. The Desktop Publisher is responsible for all aspects of desktop publishing, including operating appropriate software and equipment to design, format, and produce master copies.
Sr. Desktop Publisher Responsibilities:
Experience working in SharePoint.
Reviews all RFPs for Section L requirements.
Prepares proposal templates and performs desktop publishing-related requirements (page orientation/limits; attachment requirements) to ensure compliance with all RFP (Section L) specifications.
Works with various document types such as electronic, scanned, Adobe PDF, and handwritten.
Able to use advanced functions in Adobe PDF (e.g., creating links, combining multiple files, cropping, sizing, editing, editing Bookmarks in the navigation pane).
Uses MS Word to format and position text and graphics in a visually appealing way in order to produce proposals using knowledge of type styles, size, and layout patterns.
Creates MS PowerPoint templates and uses Style feature to create MS Word templates based on proposal volume requirements, e.g., technical, management, resumes, and past performance.
Some knowledge of graphics using Adobe Illustrator and incorporates into MS Word master copies.
Checks final copies for errors and makes necessary corrections.
Works late nights and weekends to meet strict delivery deadlines.
Supports multiple proposals and other tasks simultaneously, taking on a high volume of work while committed to meeting all deadlines.
Collaborates with coworkers, graphic artists, proposal coordinators, and proposal managers to produce proposals according to design specifications.
Required Qualifications:
Ability to work quickly, accurately, and efficiently under tight deadlines.
Excellent organizational skills.
Minimum 2-3 years desktop publishing and graphic design experience in proposal development.
Five or more years' experience using MS Word, including template design, layout, formatting, style guide adherence, and production.
Advanced proficiency using Adobe Acrobat and MS Word.
Excellent team player and customer-service oriented.
