Desktop Engineer (Remote)

he Desktop Engineer will be based out of the New York office and will be responsible for the development, management, implementation, and support of workstations across the environment. The Desktop Engineer is responsible for nearly 2000 devices across all locations worldwide. Ensuring the desktop environment is stable, secure, efficient, and meeting the requirements and workflows of the firm. The Desktop Engineer will work closely with colleagues and expected to contribute significantly to projects and support initiatives. Working alongside various internal IT groups, practice groups, users, business owners, etc. to help implement applications, technologies, workflows, processes, and procedures to maintain a secure, stable, efficient, and controlled desktop environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of the desktop environment and its lifecycle.
• Management of workstations with Configuration Manager & Intune.
• Creation, customization, deployment and maintenance of windows images and task sequences.
• Application packaging, customization and delivery based off collected business and project requirements, timelines and needs.
• Patching of OS, Office and all 3rd party applications. Report and monitor patch compliance.
• Maintain and monitor the Configuration Manager & Intune environment.
• Intune adoption and workload shift of policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Maintain and monitor the Azure Virtual Desktop environment.
• Assist in projects, work with business owners to gather requirements and put together implementation strategies/resolutions.
• Provide 3rd level investigation and resolution of desktop incidents, problems and support. Take ownership of issues and the delivery of a resolution.
• Document processes for internal policies and procedures for changes and standard operating procedures.
• Security focused, adapting and adopting processes and implementations on security needs and directives.
• Implement necessary Group Policy Objects/Intune CSPs and Active Directory changes to support the desktop environment.
• Stay abreast with industry changes, research new methods for enhancing processes, performance, reliability, optimization and overall user experience.
• Provide support, expert advice and guidance within desktop field of expertise including Operating Systems, applications, hardware, best practices, etc.
• Operational support for day to day activities that comprise of client health checks, troubleshooting, reporting, software packaging, distribution, etc.
• Other responsibilities as they are assigned.

Range: $135,000 to $155,000

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Desktop Engineering role with Configuration Manager and Intune.
• A college degree or equivalent certifications/work experience preferred.
• Experience with Co-Management and workloads in Configuration Manager and Intune
• Experience with services hosted in Azure.
• Experience managing Lenovo and Dell devices.
• Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure in a fast paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written skills.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule according to business requirements.
• Ability to organize and prioritize workflow to meet established timeframes.
• Ability to work independently or within a team environment.
