Maximus is seeking a Desktop Engineer to provide reliable and resilient computing resources for scientific and research teams who solve challenging environmental health and safety concerns. As a member of a high performing team, you will focus on developing, building, configuring, and maintaining, baseline desktop Operating Systems for enterprise end user devices. Additionally, you will oversee and support system management platforms like SCCM and Jamf Pro.
This work commonly involves: Building and maintaining baseline operating system versions; building and maintaining security objects (ie; Group Policy); patch management; Tier 3 escalation support for help desk team; Processing user requests, interfacing with enterprise services teams (developers, storage provisioning, network, security), and supporting enterprise environments including responding to service outages and other problems; Automating routine tasks using scripting and writing basic computer programs to address more complex systems configurations and enhancements.

Required:
Due to federal requirements, candidates must provide proof of United States Citizenship to be considered.
Technical Degree (B.S.) in computer science, information technology, or closely-related field. Additional years of experience may be substituted for education requirement in a year-for-year manner.
Must be located around the Morrisville, North Carolina area and able to commute to the on-site location.
3+ years of experience in an enterprise IT support environment.
Preferred:
Certifications from Windows (specific to the Windows Enterprise Operating System).
Demonstrated ability to design, configure, and manage baseline desktop operating systems
Demonstrated experience with Automation tools such as PowerShell, Ansible, Python scripting
Demonstrated troubleshooting acumen and supporting Tier 3 escalation for desktop environment
Demonstrated ability to continuously define and refine requirements through user feedback, independent research, and emerging trends
Active Directory management
Experience with M365, Atlassian Suite, and ServiceNow

Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment.
