Desktop Engineer

Location: anywhere USA

Type: remote with very light HQ travel. US citizen or green card holder required

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Executive Director, IT, the Desktop Engineer provides information technology (IT) services expertise, including business outsourcing, infrastructure technology, and application services. The role is responsible for performing advanced technological systems support, maintenance, and testing for proper upkeep of GHX systems; troubleshoots and resolves complex system hardware, software, and conflicts.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Provides technical leadership to junior support staff to resolve comprehensive and complex system problems and assistance on diverse software applications and hardware systems for department users

  • Develop and implement end-user architecture solutions based on industry best practices.

  • Maintain OS patches for Windows and MacOS environment. Maintain 3rd party-patches.

  • macOS operating system deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting

  • Implement security best practices in end-client environments.

  • Participates in and/or leads the review, evaluation and recommendation of solutions relating to hardware and software acquisitions and leads research and development initiatives and aids in the implementation of new technologies.

  • Mobile Device Management with Intune

  • Device Lifecycle management and reporting

  • Provide white glove support for C-Suite

  • Manage and maintain conferencing solutions

  • Manage 3rd party end-point solution

  • Ability to contribute different thoughts, ideas and viewpoints that lead to greater innovation on projects and cross-functional collaborative efforts

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience directly related to the Cloud duties and responsibilities specified.

  • 5 or more years' experience with Azure AD (Entra ID) and PIM roles

  • 5 years experience with configuring Intune policies, device restriction, application packaging and publishing

  • 5 years scripting skills with PowerShell

  • 5 years experience managing M365 cloud services

  • 5 years AutoPilot experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A+, Network+, and other Microsoft or relevant Advanced technical certifications a plus

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community

  • Ability to provide leadership and functional direction to other technical support staff and/or junior employees. hardware systems

  • 3-5 years' experience managing and maintaining MacOS/JAMF environment

  • Demonstrated experience performing advanced preventive maintenance on systems software, applications, hardware, networking, and communications.

Estimated Salary Range for this position: $87,400 to $116,500

The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX's salary range for this position. The base salary is one component of GHX's total compensation package for employees.
