Position Summary Participates in daily operations of managing the surgery schedule. Communicating all problems associated with the schedule or control desk to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.

Answers phone calls, routes callers, takes messages and provides routine information to callers.

Demonstrates telephone etiquette, communication skills, ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and prioritize appropriately. Works in collaboration with the Perioperative Control Desk Liaison to coordinate the surgery case flow activities of the control desk.

Communicates pertinent information to multi-disciplinary departments regarding but not limited to patient care issues and changes and/or requests for changes to the daily schedule.

Responsible for maintaining and accurately documenting blood products in the Blood Bank Log book. Able to function independently through self-direction and personal accountability for work practices and responsiveness to patient, surgeon, staff and department/facility needs.
