Overview

THE STUDIO

In addition to guiding the design ethos of the firm, the Studio, comprised of in-house architects and designers, provides planning and design solutions, serving as an important partner to Construction, Development, Leasing and Marketing departments.

Designer, Studio Team

This is an exciting opportunity to work in-house for one of the largest mixed-use developers in the country. We seek a teammate who can help WS create places where people want to be, someone who strives for excellence the way we do. We are fast paced and dedicated to delivering best in class and hope that you find the same satisfaction from results. The positions primary focus will provide critical design support to The Studio with creative contributions, design resources and deliverables to help deliver projects, ranging from urban mixed-use developments to lifestyle centers nationally.

The ideal candidate has a passion for design and architecture, possesses a curiosity for the world and wants to help WS ideate, conceptualize and ultimately create the best places, including details from conceptual design architecture, site furniture, signage, and retail tenant fit outs. Efficiency and timeliness are critical to the success of the candidate to meet fast paced deadlines. Stellar time management is required to manage a multitude of different tasks. The candidate is flexible and proactive to prioritize short term and long term demands with teammates.

The Position

The positions primary focus will provide support for design leadership within internal Studio teams and cross-functional corporate teams including Development, Construction, Leasing, and Marketing for a range of new and existing retail and mixed used developments.

The Designer will be responsible for the following:

Assist the design teams efforts on a range of projects from Feasibility and Planning through Design and Construction.
Support internal Design Architecture and Master Planning needs of the team, developing design concepts and studies.
Conduct design reviews of external consultants documentation for architecture, landscaping, signage and wayfinding, lighting, FF&E, and other related components.
Conduct design reviews of tenant build-out documentation, including architecture, signage and interiors.
Create critical documentation and collateral to Leasing teams for tenant negotiations.
Develop brand standards for properties and create content for site-specific Tenant Design Manuals.
Collaborate with junior teammates and support Studio members to meet deadlines and accomplish goals.
Assist in daily design project requirements such as meeting minutes, correspondence, file maintenance and assistance with any other required documentation maintenance and/or creation.

Requirements

Exceptional design aesthetic, graphic representation ability, critical thinking and ability to develop design concepts
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Experience working with architects, engineers, lighting designers, and landscape architects
Strong team player with resourcefulness, flexibility, time management and a collaborator with the ability to balance teamwork and independent assignments
Minimum Bachelors Degree in Architecture
3-6 years of previous experience required
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, 3D modeling (Sketchup and Revit)
Work Samples and/or portfolio are required as part of application.

Or for any other reason.OverviewWork Interface Relations:This position reports to Senior Manager, Brand and Marketing and liaises with the Marketing team to deliver on the needs of internal stakeholders including Leasing, Development, Capital Markets and Construction teams. External relationships may exist with, but not limited to marketing related vendors such photographers, signage companies, media outlets and industry trade entities.Key Position Accountabilities:This position represents an exciting opportunity to exist at the nexus of business development for WS Development. This role’s primary responsibility is to support the sales, marketing and brand management of WS and its portfolio of best-in-class places. The ideal candidate will be an experienced marketer with keen project management, organization, analytical and communication skills. Real estate experience, business-to-business marketing and/or business development/sales experience are a plus. This position interacts with cross-functional peers across the organization as well as Leadership to develop a host of broad-ranging materials, such as: property books, property fact sheets, availability sheets and all collateral used across the WS portfolio, all of which is housed and managed via a central, custom leasing portal. Additional responsibilities include:PROJECT MANAGEMENT <ul><li>Act as liaison between Leasing, Asset Strategy & Development, Capital Markets and Construction and the Brand & Marketing team; advocate for their needs and be well-versed in their business.</li><li>Drive initiatives and requests from internal stakeholders with keen focus on project management, timeliness, organization, detail orientation, strong communication and follow up.</li><li>Keep constant communication with internal “clients” to foster strong relations; actively manage relations through well-documented communication (agendas and recaps).</li><li>Collaborate closely with WS Brand & Marketing designers throughout creative and collateral development, ensuring industry best practices are followed.
