Job Summary

AECOM's Water Business Unit is seeking a Designer Specialist for immediate employment in the Albuquerque, New Mexico office. This is a technical role and will include working with designers, engineers and project managers on a variety of projects within Water/Wastewater, Water Resources, Geo/Civil and Structural.

Preparing structural and process drawings utilizing Revit

  • Grading design and earthwork calculations

  • Prepare civil drawings, site plans, construction plans and design details using Civil3d

  • Understanding of Geospatial coordinate systems

  • Manage deadlines

  • Manage CAD standards

  • Handle multiple projects concurrently

  • Perform analysis and calculations

  • Coordinate with multiple disciplines

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Strong proficiency with Revit with 5 years experience

  • 9+ years of relevant design experience in development of structural drawings with a background of also developing process drawings.

  • 9+ years of relevant design experience within civil infrastructure and civil site design (water, sewer, grading and storm drainage)

  • Must have experience managing plan sets for large projects

  • Experience managing data references throughout the duration of projects, from preliminary design and alternative analysis to final design and construction

  • Must be proficient in the use of MS Office

  • Qualified applicants will have a strong attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and priorities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical degree or certificate of completion from an accredited designer/drafter curriculum

  • ArcGIS experience

  • Proficiency in AutoCad and Civil3D and plan set assembly

  • Microstation & Inroads experience

  • Dam design including embankment, drains, spillway, outlet works, and other appurtenant structures

  • Experience with AutoTurn, Navisworks, 3D Studio Max and Infraworks

  • Familiar with horizontal BIM concepts and workflow

  • Relevant design experience in development of architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings
