Your Opportunity:
As a Designer IV for Greenheck Group you will develop new product designs and re-designs that meet the technical requirements of engineering and product management. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with component and assembly modeling in 3D, prototype fabrication, component and unit testing, creation of drawings and other technical documentation, component selection/sizing, factory support, and training, while often utilizing advanced modeling techniques and CAD software functionality. You will also provide project management, scheduling, and status reporting updates with design team leadership, engineering, and others as required.
What you'll be doing:
You will work primarily independently with high-level direction to complete complex designs and drawings for new products, changes to existing products, and special design requests using CAD technology. Able to prioritize work independently to meet high task and project deadlines.
Oversee BOM preparation and strategy on complex new and changed designs and special design requests. Responsible for creating supporting documentation to assist in training SDR's and BOM creation.
May be responsible for training new team members on CAD file management and maintenance practices.
Oversee the prototyping and testing of new designs. May be required to set up and run tests related to product design.
May support sales and marketing staff by creating submittal drawings or technical assistance on complex inquiries. May participate in creating technical scope requirements for new and updated products.
Familiar with relevant agency certification and how they impact product design.
May provide technical direction to shop floor personnel to correct complex sheet metal product design problems as they arise. Collaborate with engineering personnel to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
May assist in resolving field problems by traveling to the site if needed and evaluating the source of the malfunction. Provides formal assessment of the issue as well as proposals for reducing future issues.
Participate in and/or lead value engineering projects to continually improve the cost efficiency of design and manufacturing processes by design and drawing changes, and IAN completion (BOM work).
Oversee the release of designs into production, including any necessary testing and training required for implementing new or changed designs.
Assist in the review/evaluation of returned goods and help determine root cause of failures and disposition of materials.
Lead and/or assist in cost analysis process, submitting design proposals and project costs, evaluating and specifying tooling required to implement a new design.
Provide project management and training of the design team. May coach and mentor design team members.
What you should have:
6-8 years of relevant work experience required.
2 Year / Associate Degree or equivalent years of job experience required.
Knowledge of CAD systems (AutoCAD and Inventor Preferred).

The starting base pay range for this position is $35.00/hour - $43.24/hour and may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.
