Support Steelcase Smart Spaces Digital Strategy, designed to enhance revenue, gain market share and position Steelcase as design and innovation leader in Smart Spaces. You should have a deep understanding of the digital world in all of its forms and be inspired by the possibilities that emerge from collaboration between design and technology. Ideally you will be a craftsperson and a visual thinker, with a strong body of work, who believes in the potential of design to communicate, clarify and inspire. You will be working closely with Developers, Software Quality Engineers, Writers, Product Owners and Managers to concept and execute compelling, engaging, user focused, digital experiences across a range of platforms and operating systems.

Required Skills

  • Partner/collaborate with Mktg, Eng, (others) on product portfolio, roadmap, and positioning

  • Understand and document the user journey through sketches and wireframes

  • Collaborate with support groups to review User Desirability and Technical Feasibility of solutions

  • Implement hi and low fidelity prototyping to validate user research

  • Ability to evaluate how new solutions fit into the current state and identify the need for new architectures

  • Realize solutions through hi-fidelity and detailed design artifacts

  • Understand and interpret human interface and interaction patterns in commonly used user interfaces

  • Ability to apply Brand attributes and Style direction to ensure consistency of experience

  • Leverage knowledge of products, systems, and interfaces to execute against product vision

  • Ability to consider and apply "context scenarios" when executing or implementing user interface

  • Execute and implement to the Design POV for User desirability

  • Support development with research activities centered on gaining user feedback

  • Support design implementation within an Agile software development process

  • Collaborate with others on product, technology, enhancements and upgrades during life cycle management

  • Ability to translate expectations, guided by customer needs, on products that are now, near and far.

  • Support a culture of innovation

  • Strong knowledge of operating systems, platforms, languages, UIs.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in digital and interaction design.

  • Three years of complex software experience Web vs. Native - Experience in working with desktop and mobile devices.

  • Prior work in digital and technology related fields.

  • At least two years' experience in a user experience design role.
