Create Develop concepts and create designs based on customer requirements and general parameters. Work directly with Product Engineers in New Product design, testing, and options selection. This position will support the Service Parts Team to ensure Terex has a comprehensive service and repair parts offering for Genie Lifts including kits, aftermarket accessories, and parts to support new products.
Demonstrates from training/schooling ability.
Review and understand drawings.
3D cad package preferably SolidWorks.
College level problem solving skills.
Demonstrates ability to take direction and achieve desired outcome.
Knowledgeable in 3D design software, flow and workings. Preferred Solidworks experience.
Knowledgeable in 2D AutoCAD design, demonstrating proficiency to conduct print changes.
Demonstrates knowledge of PLM systems Product Lifecycle Management Tools.
Demonstrates attention to detail.
Working knowledge of Microsoft products. Word, Excel, Outlook, Power point.
Has demonstrated ability to be a self-starter.
Can take general direction and accomplish tasks as assigned.
Is fluent with current MRP Material Requirements Planning software.
Knowledge of electrical systems.
Knowledge of hydraulic systems.
Can take a problem dissect to root cause, and can suggest solutions.
Solves issues with little or no direction.
Ability to offers opportunities to improve product or design.
Knowledge of welding process and welding application.
Understanding of lean principals. Experience using 3P (Production Preparation Process) or similar DFM methods highly preferred.
Basic understanding of FEA Finite engineering analysis and how it applies to design of weldments.
Create detail drawing based upon general instructions.
Change detail drawings based upon general instruction to support new and/or current product and/or to facilitate product assemble.
Complete ECO Engineering Change Order header sheets for release of an ECO
Complete ECN Engineering Change Notice for release of an ECN.
Participate/ investigate changes by use of MRP Material Requirements Planning then determine if other drawings requires the same or similar changes.
Design parts and assemblies with little to no instruction to be reviewed by supervising engineer as designated.
Work with production personal, explaining technical information in understandable fashion.
Perform other duties as assigned/or needed
Requires two (2) years vocational education in mechanical drafting including CAD instruction
Requires 8 years experience in engineering setting
Thorough technical knowledge of CAD techniques and specific software such as Solid Works, AutoCAD, Mechanical Desk Top (3-D) or equivalent programs
Strong working knowledge of terms, procedures, and components used in industrial manufacturing
Knowledge of machining and welding processes
Strong PC software skills with both Word and Excel
Sufficient analytical skills to convert moderately vague concepts or instructions into drawings
Skilled in engineering terminology including design specifications, and bill of materials
Skills in performing mathematical calculations such as operating measurements, weights, dimensions, and tolerances
Ability to recognize unsafe conditions and suggest improved safety procedures
