Designer (Hybrid Role)

Description:

• Ability to take general direction and simple sketches from engineers to then develop design criteria and progress through all stages of design - feasibility through construction support.

• Day to day design and preparation of electrical, piping and other deliverables to achieve efficient facility design considering constructability, safety and cost

• Equipment general arrangements, one lines, schematics, plans, wiring diagrams, installation details etc.

• Data management through the project life cycle.

• Creating, updating specific standards

• Assist with preparation of project specification and contract documents

• Ensure that the technical and safety standards are maintained in all aspects of design work

• Relevant Experience would be plant/equipment layout, electrical system design, instrumentation & piping diagrams etc

Qualifications:

• Associate/Bachelors degree in an engineering field with at least 3+years of industrial design experience. Pertinent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Knowledge & Experience with P&ID's

• NEC codes and standards

• Design and CAD skills and technical competency (COMOS software preferred)

• Physical design experience on complex multi-disciplinary projects

• Demonstrated experience in 3D modeling environments

• Able to participate in field walks and create field sketches, take dimensions, climb ladders, etc. as necessary

• Adaptability and fervent curiosity in learning new software and applications

• Experience creating drawings with limited direction from engineering team

• Experience working in collaborative model environments

• Experience in the management of Common Data Environments
