Involvement in project development and preconstruction planning activities including scheduling, estimating, and staffing
Complete design constructability reviews throughout the design process
Lead construction coordination and documentation (pre-construction conference & monthly progress meetings)
Direct supervision of subcontractors and field staff
Develop daily field reports
Work with Safety Director to develop a project specific safety plan
Involvement in development of subcontracts and purchase orders for the project.
Lead quality control efforts throughout project execution
Develop and manage start-up and commissioning plans
Coordinate construction shop drawing review and approval
Coordinate construction RFI process
Conduct periodic project site inspections
Review pay estimates from contractors
Solve problems in a timely manner (involving appropriate parties)
Prepare change orders
Coordinates as built drawings
Assists Engineers in quantity take offs and performs additional construction services duties as required.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction or Engineering.
7 or more year's progressive experience in construction engineering or experience related to utility, water, wastewater, drainage, or construction with specific experience on design-build projects.
PA PE License or ability to acquire PA PE License quickly through reciprocity preferred but not required.
Experience with scheduling and/or estimating is preferred.
Must be able to read and interpret engineering plans.
Proficiency with MS-Word and Excel required.
Must be able and willing to climb ladders, routinely travel on uneven, unpaved terrain and work outside for extended periods of time on construction sites.
Must be willing to work extended periods on project sites that may or may not be in close proximity to their office.
Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and/or overtime if required.
Requires valid driver's license, acceptable motor vehicle record and dependable transportation.
