Design Engineer

The Design Engineer participates in product development for Analog/Mixed Signal, Digital or RF applications and is responsible for architecture, transistor level design, and simulation of new product designs. The Design Engineer should possess the skills to innovate, design, simulate and verify circuit performance. Assignments may include:

  • Participation in circuit design, simulation, verification, iteration, and evaluation to meet the performance goals and analysis of circuit layout and lab experiments

  • Master state of the art CAD tools

  • Perform lab evaluation and debug

  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams

  • Participation in customer visits

For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce

  • Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State

  • Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. As such, applicants for this position except US Citizens, US Permanent Residents, and protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) may have to go through an export licensing review process.

Job Description: The Design Verification Engineer is innovating, creating, simulating and debugging verification test environments for high performance mixed-signal and digital ICs. The Design Verification Engineer is: * Responsible for verification planning, testbench architecture, testbench design, golden models, stimulus models, and checkers. * Interacting with IC Design Engineers on simulation fault problem solving and resolution. * Developing and implementing the test suites, functional coverage, assertions and other metrics to track progress and completeness of verification effort. * Performing RTL and gate-level simulation debugging. * Developing software tools to review tests for circuit faults, measure and improve test coverage. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or equivalent relevant experience with 0-2 years related and progressive experience. In addition, the successful Design Verification Engineer will have the following requirements: * Strong programming and scripting skills including C/C++/Java/Perl/Python. * Experience with SystemVerilog, SystemC, Vera, Specman or another high-level verification language. Random test generation, coverage analysis, and assertions a plus. * Experience writing test benches and tests in an environment using revision control, bug tracking, regression suites and parallel test execution a plus. * Experience with Mixed Signal verification is a plus. * Solid problem solving and trouble shooting skills. * Enjoy tinkering, taking things apart, and making things work. * Intelligence, enthusiasm, and a solid work ethic are valued more than any skill. * Good written and verbal communication skills. Strong communication skills is required. * Ability to ask good questions.
