Your Role

The Design Technology Project Manager reports directly to the Director of Practice Applications and Development in the Design Technology Studio. You will play a key role in managing several high-impact, high-value, initiatives across our entire Design Technology studio. The Design Technology Project Manager will hold our studio Directors and project team members accountable to project timelines and deliverables. You will build relationships across the firm and use your management expertise to drive the integration of our initiatives globally across the firm.

What You Will Do

  • Work with studio leadership to develop initiative scope and objectives.

  • Help determine business value and financial impact of current and future initiatives.

  • Manage issues, risks, and changes by putting plans into action and keeping programs on track by re-enforcing timelines, plans, and objectives.

  • Communicate status of all initiatives throughout their respective project lifecycles.

  • Manage project meetings in an efficient and organized fashion; tracking action items and sending status reports.

  • Working with the Director of Apps + Development, manage the release schedule of our software releases and updates, including any internally developed applications delivered as a result of previous or current initiatives. You will work with appropriate sponsors to determine the correct stakeholders and testing criteria for high-risk applications.

  • Develop reports and presentations for various purposes.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree a plus, preferably in the fields of Computer Science, Information Management, Project Management, Architecture or Engineering.

  • CAPM / PMP or other project management certification is a plus.

  • Minimum 8+ years' experience in IT with a proven depth of PM delivery experience including software, project management, and major implementations on cross functional projects.

  • Understanding of the technologies and platforms used in the AEC industry desired. These include, but are not limited to, the following: Autodesk Revit, Autodesk BIM360, Unity3D, McNeel Rhino, Grasshopper, Trimble Sketchup, Autodesk 3DS Max, UnrealEngine, Autodesk Forge.

  • Experience working in a collaborative, multi-office, virtual team environment.

  • Strong understanding of different Program and Project Management principles and methodologies.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Asana and other related PM tools.

  • Proven ability to manage teams in a matrixed global organization.

  • Attention to detail and good communication skills are essential, specifically with managing milestones and setting expectation of roles and responsibilities of team members.

  • Collaborate effectively with teammates inside and outside the Design Technology Studio in a global setting; time zone management is essential with scheduling meetings.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact effectively with all levels of management.

Candidate will be responsible for the management of all design-phase services for one or more aviation projects, in accordance with the written project/design documents and established policies and procedures. Job Summary: The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: * Perform airport programming and planning assignments in conjunction with airport terminal planners * Perform stakeholder engagement activities to obtain input for planning and programming airport terminal and associated facilities. * Prepare project definition manuals to memorialize planning and programming findings * Develop and conduct presentations, public speaking and prepare written communications through good writing skills * Provide oversight of project design consultant(s) and all design and submittal reviews * Coordinate project designs and design reviews with owner departments, stakeholders and applicable governing agencies * Collect and reconcile comments from internal design reviews and stakeholder input * Evaluate and provide recommendations to Lead Design Manager/Program Manager/Program Director for changes and/or modifications to the design consultant scope of services * Monitor project design cost and schedule control vs. project budget * Provide review and verify progress payments of design consultants * Perform reviews and develop recommendations in the proposed settlement of change orders, claims, and revisions to the design contract schedule and budget * Assist in the development of RFQs and RFPs, and provide support as requested during the procurement process * Close out the design review process and transition the project to the Construction Manager * Provide (or oversee the provision of) construction support/administration services, to include responding to all Requests for Information (RFIs), Submittals, shop drawings and other design-related inquiries * Report to the Program Manager/Program Director and be responsible for the successful delivery of the project design phase activities, design budget, compliance, scope definition, construction delivery support and field engineering from inception through closeout of all projects Minimum Requirements * BA/BS plus 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership. Preferred Qualifications * Professional Licence in Engineering or Architecture. * 15 plus years of experience in managing aviation design projects * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Able to obtain a SIDA-cleared badge at Airports * Possess a valid Class C driver's license, and be able to obtain certification to drive on Airport's AOA movement area * Minimum ten (10) years of progressive US and International aviation design and construction experience at major (large & medium) hub airports * The candidate must have demonstrated experience in managing the design and implementation teams on large, complex aviation programs with at a minimum of one (1) program at a major-hub airport with a capital program of at least $500 million * Experience with and understanding of LEED certification requirements, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) rules and guidelines are preferred. * Experience with alternative project delivery methods (for example design-bid-build, design-build, and construction manager at risk) * Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required * Willing to travel for project assignments What We Offer When you join AECOM, you become part of a company that is pioneering the future .
