Silicon Labs is seeking an experienced Senior Analog Manager to provide design leadership and manage the analog mixed signal and power management team in the IOT IC design group.

The position requires a strong analog circuit design background with focus on low power design and integration in RF SOC.

Responsibilities

  • Management of an IC Design team in the IOT RF&AMS, IC design group

  • Leading design initiatives including feasibility studies and competitive analysis

  • Participation in product roadmaps, definition, technology selection, circuit design, and verification

  • Defining Analog and Power system architecture for the SOC as well as specification and design of Analog blocks

  • Detailed documentation, silicon evaluation and debugging, production test development support, customer support, and other activities as required for the achievement of high-volume production

Requirements

  • Direct experience designing and bringing into mass production analog and power management circuits

  • Knowledge of low-power techniques with application in CMOS processes

  • Advanced understanding in system specification and ability to work with system/application engineers to translate system requirement into circuit requirement at IC level

  • Advanced understanding of device noise, mismatch, linearity, and other analog impairments

  • Advanced knowledge in signals, systems and transforms

  • Strong knowledge of RF friendly design and implementation techniques

  • Familiarity with mixed signal mode verification methodology

  • Solid experience in Si characterization and debug

  • Understanding of DFT and DFM techniques for mass production environment

  • Ability to drive strong production test/QA methodologies

  • Extensive experience and passion in team building

  • Experience in IP sourcing and management

  • A technology-related master's degree or equivalent training and 6 or more years of industry experience (preferably 10+ years)

  • An advanced degree may reduce the minimum experience required.

  • 4 or more years of experience leading teams and project development preferably in the area of low power analog and power management

Key Qualifications * Familiar with all aspects of ASIC integration including Floorplanning, Clock and Power distribution, global signal planning, I/O planning and hard IP integration * Familiar with typical SoC issues such as multiple voltage and clock domains, ESD strategies, mixed signal block integration, and package interactions * Familiar with hierarchical design approach, top-down design, budgeting, timing and physical convergence * Prior experience integrating IP from both internal and external vendors and be able to specify and drive IP requirements in the physical domain * Strong experience with large SoC designs (>20M gates) with frequencies in excess of 1GHz utilizing state of the art sub 45nm technologies * A deep understanding of database management issues will make you a great fit for the role. * From a CAD tool perspective, experience with Floorplanning tools, P&R flows, global timing verification and Physical Design Verification Flows is required * Familiar with various process related design issues including Design for Yield and Manufacturability, multi Vt strategies and thermal Mgt. Description Collaborate with FE team to understand chip architecture and drive physical aspects early in design cycle. Work closely with the physical design team, drive methodologies and "best known methods" to streamline physical design work, come up with guidelines and checklists, drive execution, and track progress. Be focal point for place and route drive the work among place and route engineers, set goals and milestones, plan short and long-term work, understand dependencies between different domains like top, STA, block place and route.
