Work as a Design Researcher that will have direct impact on the entire marketing life cycle.
In this role, you will create understanding and empathy around user needs, stated and unstated, for your entire marketing team including designers, marketing managers, and developers. You will do so by conducting primary research, exploring the behaviors and motivations of our users through methods like field visits, ethnography, surveys, usability testing, and logs analysis. You will engage with the analytics and automation teams to provide quantitative insights to support your efforts.
Advocate for the user and customer and relay to the team pain points and delights in their experiences (both digital and real-life) while also being an advocate for the stakeholder goals.
Proactively plan and execute customer research throughout the design and development lifecycle, from early strategic direction through post-release validation and refinement
Utilize a wide range of research methods, including generative design research and contextual inquiry, participatory design workshops, interviews, formative and summative usability studies, and quantitative methods, such as surveys and data analytics - and know how/when to advocate for different methods.
Create project estimates and budgets, research proposals
Create discussion guides and leading open-ended, contextual conversations to help generate answers to key questions as well as discover what the team didn't know and delivering a readout to the team and executives. Effectively articulate issues and concerns to team members and clients as well as work to strategize potential solutions.
Execute research, including both in-person and remotely
Synthesize and think about systems-level patterns and frameworks
Communicate and tell stories using writing, visuals, and verbal communication
Make research findings relevant and impactful for different stakeholders through a variety of formats such as insights, decks, stories, videos, personas, and journey maps
Develop relationships across the company to collect existing research and insights to inform your research questions and collaborate on end-to-end research that looks across the customer journey
Share customer insights with the broader organization in creative ways to increase customer empathy, including posters, immersion rooms, blog posts, and workshops
Coach and assist others on research best practices
Manage own time whether working on a team in a collaborative environment or working independently.
Maintain in-depth knowledge and understanding of the financial services digital products space including products and user groups. (e.g.- Competitive Landscape Analysis).
Manage vendor and third party relationships
Skills and Software Requirements:
Experience integrating user research into product designs and design practices.
Experience in survey design (e.g. Qualtrics). Working knowledge of statistics and experimental design.
Strong understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during the product development process.
Effective interpersonal, communication, negotiation and collaboration skills.
