Work as a Design Researcher that will have direct impact on the entire marketing life cycle.

In this role, you will create understanding and empathy around user needs, stated and unstated, for your entire marketing team including designers, marketing managers, and developers. You will do so by conducting primary research, exploring the behaviors and motivations of our users through methods like field visits, ethnography, surveys, usability testing, and logs analysis. You will engage with the analytics and automation teams to provide quantitative insights to support your efforts.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Advocate for the user and customer and relay to the team pain points and delights in their experiences (both digital and real-life) while also being an advocate for the stakeholder goals.

  • Proactively plan and execute customer research throughout the design and development lifecycle, from early strategic direction through post-release validation and refinement

  • Utilize a wide range of research methods, including generative design research and contextual inquiry, participatory design workshops, interviews, formative and summative usability studies, and quantitative methods, such as surveys and data analytics - and know how/when to advocate for different methods.

  • Create project estimates and budgets, research proposals

  • Create discussion guides and leading open-ended, contextual conversations to help generate answers to key questions as well as discover what the team didn't know and delivering a readout to the team and executives. Effectively articulate issues and concerns to team members and clients as well as work to strategize potential solutions.

  • Execute research, including both in-person and remotely

  • Synthesize and think about systems-level patterns and frameworks

  • Communicate and tell stories using writing, visuals, and verbal communication

  • Make research findings relevant and impactful for different stakeholders through a variety of formats such as insights, decks, stories, videos, personas, and journey maps

  • Develop relationships across the company to collect existing research and insights to inform your research questions and collaborate on end-to-end research that looks across the customer journey

  • Share customer insights with the broader organization in creative ways to increase customer empathy, including posters, immersion rooms, blog posts, and workshops

  • Coach and assist others on research best practices

  • Manage own time whether working on a team in a collaborative environment or working independently.

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge and understanding of the financial services digital products space including products and user groups. (e.g.- Competitive Landscape Analysis).

  • Manage vendor and third party relationships

Skills and Software Requirements:

  • Experience integrating user research into product designs and design practices.

  • Experience in survey design (e.g. Qualtrics). Working knowledge of statistics and experimental design.

  • Strong understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during the product development process.

  • Effective interpersonal, communication, negotiation and collaboration skills.

The mission of the CDS is to enable an immersive, integrated care experience through digital tools and solutions that empower consumers to achieve their best health anytime, anywhere and enable our partners to provide holistic, personalized care.</p> <p>As a User Experience Researcher positioned within one of these experience teams, you will be responsible for developing digital research programs and processes as well as conducting user research. The results of your work will help designers better understand user goals, needs, behaviors, limitations, and preferences as well as provide rationale for design decisions.</p> <p>A firm understanding of user-centered design processes, usability testing, and user research methods are crucial for success.</p> <p>As the User Experience Researcher, you will:</p> <li> Establish research roadmaps, research objectives, proposals, methods, and processes</li> <li> Conduct and coordinate usability studies, surveys, and other design research</li> <li> Analyze research findings and report results</li> <li> Translate research findings into actionable design recommendations</li> <li> Lead numerous research efforts in collaboration with other internal teams and vendors</li> <li> Mine through existing data and research findings, distilling them into practical design recommendations and user insights</li> <li> Synthesize data and findings from multiple studies and sources into succinct reports and focused points of view that inspire and inform UX and other digital teams</li> <li> Advocate for and bring the voice of users into digital design solutions, informing and educating about what works and what doesn’t for Client users</li> <li> Develop user scenarios and prototype specifications to support research studies</li><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p>Role Essentials</p> <li> <strong>At least 5 years of experience as a User Experience Researcher</strong> </li> <li> Bachelor's degree in Human Factors, Psychology, or similar field</li> <li> Strong knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research tools and methods, including usability studies, interviews, site visits, surveys, user modeling, card sorting, etc.</li> <li> Demonstrated skill in planning and conducting usability studies for complex transactional user interfaces and interactions for web, mobile and cross channel experiences </li> <li> Demonstrated ability to collect and analyze study findings, present results, and make recommendations based on data</li> <li> Ability to understand and articulate the underlying causes for usability issues </li> <li> Ability to adapt existing processes and deliverables when necessary to meet project needs, improve efficiency and quality, and gain practical results with minimal cost and effort</li> <li> Passion for understanding users and their behaviors and cognitive processes</li> <li> Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously</li> <li> Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to make detailed information understandable</li> <p>Role Desirables</p> <li> At least 2 years of experience conducting research and usability studies for cross-channel, mobile/responsive web sites</li> <li> An advanced degree in Human Factors, Psychology, or similar field.
