The Restorative Therapies Group develops life-restoring therapies and healthcare solutions that span the care continuum; integrating technologies and applying clinical and economic evidence to increase patient access, improve efficiency of procedures and deliver successful patient outcomes.
A Day in the Life
Support for Generator Servicing (40% FTE)
Review and approve appropriate qualifications, validations, inspection plans and gauging for both new products and changes to released product. Assure the resolution of all issues raised by testing.
Review, approve, and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Establish incoming inspection requirements and revise as necessary.
Implements of changes and upgrades to systems, procedures, and processes to improve product quality. Provide well-written reports and supporting documentation.
Disposition nonconforming product at the Material Review Board meetings. Interface with suppliers to ensure product specifications are met. Support supplier audits and assessments.
Support for NPD and RPE (30% FTE)
Supports QEs in project team discussions on IEC Electrical Safety/EMC concerns. Collaborates with R&D to align on testing strategies.
Drafts test methods, protocols and reports under the direction of the project's lead QE.
Executes QE testing (e.g. TMV, Transit, and Aging)
Support for Reliability (10% FTE potential for growth with guidance from Reliability Engineer)
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality standards and protocol for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
Designs or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
2+ years of Quality Engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree or a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with exposure to Quality Engineering
Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications):
Knowledge of IEC Standards
Medical Device experience
Use of Electrical Testing Equipment
DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) Certification
Knowledge of Design Controls
