Design & Purchasing Manager

Our Event Solutions Group is seeking a Travel Design & Purchasing Manager. The Travel Design & Purchasing Manager will be the primary sales and event purchasing support to BDDs for Incentive and Meeting Services travel/event proposals. Additionally, this role will be responsible for the site searches, selection, recommendation, and contracting of space for travel programs.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Lead solution design/qualification strategy sessions, brainstorming sessions and recommend appropriate hotels, resorts, cruise lines, destination management companies and other suppliers as necessary.

• Strategize with BDDs and Event Solutions Management on sales tactics, pricing and strategies.

• Work with vendors (hotels, DMCs, etc.) on RFPs, proposals, pricing and contracting.

• Create/write/produce a competitive, creative, operational travel proposal that meets approved profit guidelines.

• Develop client presentations/Lead presentation to clients via WebEx or in person.

• Lead response process for new client RFPs/RFIs.

• Ability to travel to destinations for supplier/client inspections (15 -20%).

Required Experience & Education:

• Travel design and buying experience preferred but not required.

• Destination/hospitality industry knowledge.

• Intermediate to advanced level skill with Microsoft 365 (esp. PowerPoint and SharePoint) highly preferred.

• Bachelor's Degree, CMM or CMP certification will be a plus.

• Internal and external customer focused to create compelling meeting or incentive event proposals.

• A storyteller with strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Must be organized, creative, detail oriented and service minded.

• Ability to work independently and make decisions.

• Problem solving skills including contract negotiations.
