The successful candidate will identify and drive responses to organizational issues which affect our team's execution and efficacy. Projects that the DPM drives will change based on what the organizational needs are at the time. The ultimate goal is to help the team move effectively, help leaders make better decisions, and ultimately create better experiences for our customers.
Establish and lead operating processes and tools for effectively managing the organization and cross-functional initiatives.
Partner closely across many functions relevant to the Product Area, including Product and Engineering, Communications, PR, Marketing, Finance, Sales, Legal and Operations.
Use cross-functional knowledge to understand issues, trends, and perspectives that may influence the business.
Proactively identify problems and issues across organizations and create programs and processes to solve them.
Communicate and build the strategic narrative of our Design team with the leadership team.
Ensure the strategy cascades to the broader organization, partners, and product areas via a cadence of Team meetings, All Hands, offsites and management meetings.
Be a sounding board to the management team, acting as proxy for the leader on key business issues, working closely across functional areas to provide a consistent narrative across initiatives.
Develop and or contribute to deeply unique, creative, and inspiring collateral for public keynotes and other presentations relevant to the business unit.
Lead Product Area-wide, cross-functional project teams, to structure and execute analyses required to develop recommendations.
Lead critical projects based on emergent business needs and participate in discussions to scope new projects.
Communicate findings from initiatives to management and the broader organization.
Participate in early discussions to scope new projects.
Inspire and lead the organization to work in a healthy and collaborative culture.
Actively develop and grow the bench strengths through mentoring, coaching, educational opportunities, training, and talent retention. Cultivate a collaborative culture with other partners and suppliers within the company.
Explicit leadership support in driving programs and recommendations (e.g. communication from all leadership that programs DPM lead drives are priorities and should be attended to promptly and a small team to drive those programs.).
Communication to all cross-functional teams and leadership layers about what role the DPM lead will play and on-going active support.
Invitation to strategically relevant discussions and leadership meetings. Invitations to relevant email threads, discussions and meetings.
Clear lines around what DPM lead is responsible for: e.g. who is responsible for facilitating OKR's?
Management of all DPMs.
Day-to-day management and consultation with DPMs on all programs.
5+ years experience shipping software products or 3D experiences.
3+ years experience building, managing or leading teams.
Experience with delivering products from concept stages to launch.
Experience communicating across organizations.
Proven problem solving experience and experience overcoming challenges.
At least 1 VR product in your portfolio.
Ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
