Your Role

As a Gensler Design Manager in the Las Vegas office, you will leverage your experience in interiors, your attention to detail and your interpersonal skills to deliver exceptional client projects on time and on budget. You will deploy resources to ensure that the work process flows smoothly and act as the primary liaison between the team and client. This is a great opportunity to join a highly creative, collaborative team while working on trendsetting interiors projects across a variety of industries.

What You Will Do

  • Implement client projects through the leadership of project teams; Provide leadership to client and team by communicating project objectives, contract scope, terms, and schedule

  • Manage scheduling, budgets, staffing, and project set-up with clients, sub-contractors, vendors and contractors

  • Prepare project proposals and negotiate contracts and fees; bid projects to multiple general contractors

  • Track and manage financial performance of project for success (e.g., work plan, schedule, fees, change orders, billings and collections)

  • Manage project lifecycle; estimating, bidding, project kick-off, weekly coordination, punch list, turnover, opening, and project close-out

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design or related field

  • 8+ years of related experience, managing projects and teams on interiors projects

  • Professional license or certification preferred

  • LEED accreditation preferred

  • Experience negotiating project scope, fees, managing project financial performance, and ensuring fiscal responsibility for projects

  • Experience with the full project lifecycle, through post-occupancy

  • Knowledge of building codes, standards and building structures

  • Basic technical understanding of architectural design, interior and furniture design

  • Experience with project management software, such as MS Project, a plus

  • Working knowledge of Revit a plus

Each intern will have intentional learning objectives that will guide them in gaining practical work experience that closely reflects their academic program. The internship session is 10 weeks long and will begin at the end of May and end in the last week of July. Qualifications: * Be familiar with different types of products and materials, including their functionality in the space * Able to collaborate with architects and other specialists * Work should have an artistic appeal yet be functional at the same time Day-to-day responsibilities: * Attend project meetings * Determine the goals and requirements of the project * Consider space management and flow * Sketch preliminary design plans using AutoCad and photoshop * Manage the selection of materials and fixtures * Review cabinet designs & layout for accurate measurements and style * Manage the interior design project timeline and estimated project costs * Review vendor provided layouts and interior detail drawing specifications * Maintain samples in a workable and organized manner * Coordinate directly with internal clients and externally with vendors in all facets of selections of materials * Coordinate delivery and installation of furnishings * Keep up to date on the latest trends in design and products * Build and maintain positive business relationships with multiple internal departments and external agencies Projects will include: * Renovation of property casino and rooms Boyd Gaming, Inc.
