Summary

Design Intern

As the Design Intern, you'll have the chance to work closely with an amazing team of creative individuals to learn how to work within a project life-cycle. You'll be involved from brief to concept all the way through execution. Therefore, you'll need strong design skills, a competency for the digital landscape, a solid understanding of social media, a mastery of the Adobe Suite of Design software, unrelenting attention to detail, a pro-active "can do" attitude and a desire to do cutting edge creative work.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Creative and Business Development teams to develop a wide variety of day to day projects.

  • Assist Creative and Business Development teams to create mistake free presentation deck graphics and visual assets.

  • Contribute to well-developed ideas during conceptual meetings and juggle numerous small design and production projects at any given time.

Qualifications

  • Strong prioritization skills.

  • Solid skills in Adobe tools such as Illustration, Photoshop, InDesign.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Excellent written communication and verbal communication skills.

  • Passion for design and out-of-the-box ideation with a constant drive to learn.

  • A collaborative work ethic with superior organization skills.

  • Ability to interact in a courteous, and professional manner and work well with others.

Position Summary

The Intern provides day-to-day and project support across multiple groups or business units as required by business needs

Internships provide students with challenging, relevant work experience in their field of interest as well as introduce them to additional career opportunities. Internships may lead to future opportunities within the Company, although there are no guarantees for full-time employment. Internships are offered in the following areas:

  • Sales & Marketing, Retail Teams, Human Resources, Accounting & Finance, Retail, IT

Internship Criteria

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Applicants must be attending any accredited, two or four-year degree-granting institution or an accredited Graduate Master's or MBA program, in the United States

  • Applicants must be senior status or have graduated during the previous year

  • Applicants need to have a minimum 3.0 GPA

  • Applicants will be required to submit at least two personal letters of recommendation

  • Applicants must be working towards a Business or Business related major. Some applicable majors are:

  • Marketing

  • Business Administration

  • Accounting / Finance

  • Leadership and Organizational Development

  • Human Resources Studies

  • Business Management

  • Business Information Systems

  • Economics

  • Political Science

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading or assisting in the completion of business unit projects as assigned

  • Assist the business unit team with day-to-day work that covers activities across the division

  • Assist in developing new systems, reports and analytics to support business unit needs

  • Audit/review documents submitted for completeness and accuracy

  • Work with others in the business unit group on initiatives aimed at process improvements

  • Perform other duties as assigned

This position does not have guidance or mentoring responsibilities for indirect reports

Minimum Qualifications

Education Level: (Required): High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience

Field of Study/Area of Experience: coursework emphasis in applicable major

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Excellent written communication and verbal communication skills

  • Team building Skills

  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle a fast-paced work environment

  • Ability to interact in a courteous, helpful, and professional manner

Environmental & Physical Requirements

Office / Sedentary Requirements

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds. VIEW JOBS 1/12/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-12T00:00 The graphic design intern works with the communications department at Earthjustice headquarters in San Francisco, California, to generate more visibility and brand awareness of Earthjustice's work. The intern will assist the creative team with high-visibility projects requiring design production for prepress or digital use, graphics and photo editing, archiving, and occasional administrative duties. Through the paid internship, the intern will have a chance to expand their portfolio and learn the various roles of the communications department at a large nonprofit environmental organization. We prefer applicants to be currently enrolled in college, but will make exceptions for qualified candidates. Candidates should be passionate about environmental issues and have exposure to previous communications work, though professional work experience is not required. Applicants should have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills, and be an independent, motivated worker. Applicants should also be familiar with Adobe CC suite – especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. This is a part-time internship that requires a minimum of 20 hours per week.
