We are currently hiring an Design engineering intern. The role will be responsible for reviewing products and materials during the manufacturing process. The individual will be able to identify if products do not meet quality standards and identify where in the process build the error occurred. They will be able to utilize their understanding of engineering drawings to work with leadership in developing/enhancing process and procedures.

The following knowledge, skills and/or abilities are required to satisfactorily perform each essential duty:

  • Able to read engineering drawings, process and procedure documentation;
  • Able to work with engineering and production departments on creating/enhancing process/procedure documentation for production;
  • Perform inspections on raw materials with respect to company quality standards and report to Purchasing and Engineering Departments;
  • Responsible for dispositioning non-conforming materials (build, scrap, rework or return to vendor);
  • Able to enhance existing quality control documentation and enforce adherence;
  • Make recommendations to engineering of jigs/fixtures to aid production;
  • During inspections, able to identify quality issues and determine root cause;
  • Able to use a variety of methods to inspect products (such as measuring dimensions, testing functionality, comparing specifications to the drawing, etc.);
  • May recommend methods to improve quality systems within manufacturing areas;
  • Able to make updates to engineering drawings in Solidworks CAD software;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

The following qualifications are needed to successfully meet the essential job functions:

  • Able to inspect, measure and accurately test products for quality;
  • Technical ability to understand drawings and process documentation;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • High level of attention to detail and organization;
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills;
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college
  • Able to adapt to changing needs and priorities;
  • Able to sit, stand, reach and carry as needed for a full shift (8-hours);
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to a maximum of 50 lbs;
  • Must be self-motivated and have a positive, solution-seeking attitude;
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Able to commit to a consistent work schedule with good attendance;
  • Trained in Solidworks CAD software;
  • Other duties as assigned.
