Job Description: Design Coordinator
Pay Range Commensurate with Industry Experience
Location: The Woodlands, TX
Schedule Typically Monday through Friday working as many hours as necessary successfully perform the job
Travel Occasional travel to job sites
The Design Coordinator will report directly to the Construction Engineering Manager to support engineering functions for the company. This position is based in Webber's Engineering Services department and will work collaboratively across our various construction operations and other departments as needed.
Regular Job Duties
Responsible for work relative to construction projects including but not limited to heavy civil, commercial, and waterworks.
Prepare and/or review design plans, reports, construction documents, specifications, construction cost estimations and schedules for construction projects.
Review bid projects for optimizations, risks and potential alternatives
Advise project of any technical aspects of design (and other) services that may affect construction
Work with project team to ensure successful completion of all design work
Review construction documents, making changes and modifications as they relate to the design
Provide construction support and coordination of trades within the organization.
Maintain regular communication with various companies and intracompany departments.
Other unlisted duties will be assigned
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required
Min 2-years' experience in heavy civil design and construction is strongly preferred. Commercial and water/wastewater experience is considered a plus.
A P.E. license or EIT certification is preferred, but not required.
Knowledge of the local market is preferred.
Moderate to high level of proficiency design software, as well as MicroStation-AutoCAD, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) GEOPACK and BIM software skills are considered a plus.
Ability to produce his/her own design and review/revise design done by others
Ability to communicate in English via verbal and written communications
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry and utilize Construction Math concepts
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature. Some exposure to outdoors with changing weather conditions such as rain, sun, snow, and wind
Ability to physically maneuver by foot minor obstacles at construction projects
