You will be relied upon to be the subject matter expert within the manufacturing department supporting the Hypersonic program. Summary of Key Duties for this position:
You independently develop and deliver mechanical design solutions of varying complexity using solid models, detailed drawings, and release of engineering work products.
You review requirements, from various sources (instrumentation, dynamics, stress, systems, thermal, manufacturing, etc.), to ensure that applicable requirements are flowed into the detailed design of assigned products.
You communicate consistently and collaborate with program leadership, analysts, subject matter experts, peers, configuration management, and manufacturing, to ensure we meet program requirements and schedule timelines.
You facilitate/support our production meetings.
You assist manufacturing & test with anomaly/discrepancy root cause analysis and resolution.
You interact with engineers, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers whiling motivating the team to deliver hardware that meets requirements within applicable cost and schedule constraints.
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered career, or journey, level.

Demonstrated ability to take a technical project from conceptualization and organize, plan, and lead it to successful completion.
Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals.
Extensive experience with CAD modeling using Pro-E / Creo.
Mechanical design, drafting and modeling techniques.
General knowledge of manufacturing processes including documentation, machining, welding, heat treatment, surface treatment and assembly.
Developing requirements from Proposal documents or Work Authorizations.
Demonstrated ability to work with multiple levels of Management, industry peers, and internal and external customers, and across adjacent skill disciplines (i.e. systems engineering, electronics, stress/thermal analysis, configuration management, production, test, quality).
Hands-on hardware experience.
