We manufacture electrical connectors for the aerospace and military/defense industries, quality is always our focus. We carry that focus into every aspect of our operation. We are looking to add to staff a Design Engineer who will design, define, qualify and implement highly reliable and cost effective electrical connectors.

Design Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Incorporate innovative material designs, manufacturing technologies and DFM practices into cutting edge aerospace electrical connector designs

  • Assumes ownership and project management of connector designs throughout the concept, design, qualification & manufacturing process

  • Communicate effectively (written & verbal) between all levels of organization, customer interface and regulatory agencies

  • Accurate & through documentation of products and projects to meet internal and external policies/regulations & customer requirements

  • Interpretation & application of customer or MIL specifications & FAA requirements into development of highly reliable, cost-effective connector designs

  • Design & develop efficient, reliable and robust manufacturing processes & fixtures to support production of connector & assembly products

  • Improve profitability through automation integration and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, materials & practices

Design Engineer Requirements:

  • 5 years minimum of Design, Product or Manufacturing Engineering experience with electrical connectors or equivalent

  • Proficiency of use with SolidWorks and AutoCAD design programs

  • Proficiency of Mechanical, Electrical and Analytical problem-solving skills

  • Knowledge and experience with design of MIL-DTL-83723, -38999 or similar type aerospace electrical connectors

  • Understanding and experience with the selection of materials for structural and electrical performance requirements

  • Experience selecting processing & plating of plastics

  • Previous experience selecting, machining & plating of metals

  • Background in selecting & molding elastomeric materials

  • Ability to generate valid design & testing protocols with documentation to comply with internal standards as well as MIL & FAA requirements

  • Working knowledge of statistical tools, Lean, GMP and OE principles

  • Project leadership & organization

  • Excellent verbal and written communication/documentation skills within individual & team environment

  • Prior experience in an Aerospace or Military product manufacturing environment

  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, Project & Publisher

  • Knowledge and understanding of physical & electrical testing methods & requirements

  • Occasional customer, vendor or test protocol travel required

Design Engineer Education Requirements:

  • BS or MS Engineering degree in Design, Mechanical, Electrical or equivalent degree
