We are looking for a Design Engineer for the Network Services Applied Engineering team

The person who fills this position will be expected to perform the following Overall

  • Design and establish configuration management documentation per NMCI guidelines. Analyze proposed product design changes to determine the effect on the overall system.

  • Establish Design baselines.

  • Authorize the release of drawings and changes specified by Program or Engineering Management.

  • Provide advice and guidance on methods, procedures and requirements to individuals responsible for the creation of documentation.

  • Plan and implement methods to improve response.

  • Act as liaison between management and other functional groups to resolve issues regarding configuration analysis documentation.

  • Performs audit to verify compliance with contract requirements.

  • Design major components or major portions of a functional system to develop or improve products within the NMCI.

  • Utilize CAD equipment to develop basic data and make preliminary layouts, sketches and notes necessary to present design proposals.

  • Investigate and make decisions regarding pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-weight efficiency, contractual specification requirements and cost.


The ideal candidate will meet or exceed the following

  • This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Secret security clearance.

  • 8570 compliance (Security+ CE preferred)

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field work experience

  • 8-10 years relevant experience

  • Must be a US Citizen

Ability to work in an organized fashion with focus on documented activity.<br /> Primary areas of responsibility will be supporting NOC operations at Pearl Harbor, HI.<br />  <br />  <br /> <strong>Qualifications</strong>:<br />  <br /> Network Engineer with a minimum of 7 years of experience which includes operational support, hands-on implementing and configuration of network devices such as Cisco routers & switches, associated software tools, desktop computers, and cabling in a large LAN/MAN/BAN/WAN environment.<br />  <br /> Exposure to VPNs, WAN Accelerators, Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Virtual Private Networks (VPN) desired.<br />  <br /> High level of project coordination skills to manage the execution of maintenance activities and network outages.<br />  <br /> Experience with secure networks, specifically Intel Community standards a plus.
