Job Description Job Description As a Design Engineer at PCM USA, INC your role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance production methods, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
No Relocation. Must live in Houston Texas Key Responsibilities: 1. Design & Drafting: · Utilize CAD software to create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and drawings of pump components and systems. · Develop innovative pump designs that meet performance specifications, including flow rate, pressure, and efficiency. · Standardize product offering to increase usage on common parts. · Designing pump skids · Converting metric drawings to imperial to suit local US market. 2.
Material Selection and Specifications: · Evaluate and select appropriate materials for pump components based on performance, durability, and cost considerations. · Create material specifications and collaborate with suppliers to ensure the availability of quality materials for production. 3. Manufacturability and Process Optimization: · Perform Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) analyses to optimize pump manufacturing processes. · Collaborate with manufacturing teams to develop efficient production methods while maintaining product quality and consistency. 4. Quality Assurance: · Collaborate with quality control teams to develop and implement quality assurance protocols for pump manufacturing. · Conduct regular inspections and tests to ensure pumps meet quality standards and regulatory requirements. 5.
Documentation and Standards Compliance: · Maintain detailed documentation of pump designs, specifications, and test results. · Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and quality management systems throughout the design and manufacturing processes. 6. Cost Analysis and Budgeting: · Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to develop cost estimates for pump design projects. · Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising pump performance or reliability. 7. Collaboration and Communication: · Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, manufacturing engineers, and sales teams, to ensure alignment with project goals. · Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on project progress, challenges, and solutions.
Qualifications: · Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. · Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for 3D modeling and drafting. · Strong understanding of fluid dynamics and mechanical principles. · Experience with pump design and development, preferably in industrial or food applications. · Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. · Effective communication and collaboration skills. · Strong mechanical aptitude.
