Who We Are Looking For:

We are currently building our Engineering staff and are looking for a talented Design Engineering Intern to join our Connected Mobility Solutions team. CMS is our newest and fastest growing business segment, and we are looking for talented engineers who share our passion for optimization and development. The ideal candidate is energetic, ambitious, and possesses a willingness to learn as well as think outside the box.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the development of new electronic products from concept through product release, as well as optimization and improvement of existing product lines. You will get the opportunity to contribute to the mechanical design of components and assemblies through modeling, analysis, simulation, and testing, while working with cross functional teams in a fast paced, collaborative environment.

Position Qualifications

What You Will Need:Education & Work Experience:

  • REQUIRED: Actively enrolled in Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent program
  • PREFERRED : Previous experience in an automotive engineering environment (Internship/Co-op)

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • 3D CAD and 2D drawing creation using parametric modeling (NX experience preferred)

  • Basic engineering concepts including but not limited to structural analysis, use material properties, tolerancing, etc.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate the ability to express complex technical concepts clearly and concisely using tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Power Point, or other means.

  • Able to follow, document, and update technical processes and procedures.

  • Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with others and in a team. Ability to challenge other and accept challenge to develop / strive for the best possible outcome.

  • Time management, coordinating multiple tasks and demonstrate on time task completion

  • Creativity and the courage to ask questions when you do not know how to complete a task, to learn more and to challenge the team.

  • Demonstrates virtues of integrity, entrepreneurship, humility, and respect.

VIEW JOBS 12/29/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-29T00:00 Job Description Core Responsibilities: The Product Development Engineer(CoOp) – will assist the Product Development Engineers that make up the "Core Engineering" team with product design of components, problem solving, data collection & technical writing. The person will also assist the Product Validation & Testing focused group within the R&D team with testing, data collection, fixture fabrication, equipment maintenance & test report creation. Additional Responsibilities: · Actively participant on R&D Product Development teams to assist in determining the proper product design and production methods of new products in the CTNA portfolio · Assist the manufacturing plants in the implementation of new products into production and support ongoing program launches · Generate initial technical specifications & follow through the release process · Assist in lab testing scheduling & provide additional resources to the lab when over capacity · Review resulting test data along side the Lab Technicians/Product Development Engineers and create test reports for R&D approval prior to distribution · Create product and tooling initial drawings & follow through the release process · Maintain DFMEA's and DVP&R's for new products · Assist in root cause analysis of testing failures, quality problems, and/or warranty returns · Apply analytical techniques learned through schooling · Determine, present continuous improvements ideas for products, manufacturing and/or R&D processes Required Qualifications: Possession of a High School Diploma or GED Currently enrolled at a accredited university engineering curriculum (freshman, sophmore or junior) Base knowledge of thermodynamics, mechanical & electrical principles Fluent in English Ability to travel to customers/plants in Mexico and the USA Preferred Qualifications: IT literate; including eMail, MS Office and MS Project Possess the ability to read/interpret mechanical drawings Basic thermodynamics knowledge Highly motivated with an ability to work in a fast paced and challenging team environment Intercultural sensitivity; able to work in international teams Job Requirements Required Qualifications: * Must be enrolled in a US accredited degree program * Must maintain a minimum GPA of a 2.8 EEO Statement EEO / AA / Disabled / Protected Veteran Employer.
