Job Summary
INWESCO is looking for Design Engineer Intern. The Design Engineer Intern will be responsible for the development of production drawing sets and layouts for products manufactured at our facility..
This position is expected to start in-person around 2024 and continue through the entire summer term (i.e. through August 2024). We ask for a minimum of 10 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with design portions of a project related to discipline systems according to code and standards under the direct supervision of the engineering department
Responsible for drafting, designing, developing diagrams and basic 3D models
Participates in the analysis and validation of design concepts
Performs routine engineering tasks using standard engineering practices
Learn to apply applicable design principles related to welding and fabrication
Assist with specifying equipment components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications
Research, design, evaluate and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems, processes to meet requirements and applying knowledge of engineering principles
Follow Inwesco engineering procedures such as naming conventions, baseline dimensioning, tolerancing and creation of assemblies and parts
Create bills of materials and production drawings
Assist drafters and engineers as needed
Qualifications / Required Skills
Sophomore or Junior pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or other related discipline and/or equivalent combination of knowledge, skills and abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of engineering fundamentals and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Solidworks
Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast paced environment
Excellent interpersonal skills and exemplary oral/written communication skills
Ability to work both independently and in a team setting
Ability to write reports and analyze raw data
