Design Engineer II
Essential Functions:
  • Work closely with internal project team in the development of Construction Documents for all scales of site development
  • Read, understand, and design topographic data sets
  • Work on projects at an independent level with little to no supervision
  • Develop illustratives, drawings and visual aids
  • Develop and implement innovative design techniques that enhances the productivity of the assignments within the company
  • Ensure engineering designs are in compliance with current applicable state & local regulations
  • Develop project specifications in CSI format
  • Lead a team of junior engineers in the development of project deliverables.
  • Work with a team of design engineers, CAD Designer to assure Quality Assurance and Quality Control through various phases of projects
  • Develop and implement innovative design techniques that enhances the productivity of the assignments within the company
  • Perform site grading analysis and earthwork calculations
  • Perform roadway design
  • Perform drainage design, calculations, and reports
  • Perform utility layout and sizing
  • Attend client meetings and project site visits
  • Write technical reports
  • Development of planning studies and exhibits
  • Development of construction plan sets and providing redlines for drafters
  • Prepare hand drawings and presentation materials
  • Assign tasks to and coordinate with technicians or administrative staff

  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read, interpret and collect data documents
  • Maintains confidentiality and security of sensitive company and client information
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Works well and communicates effectively with others
  • Ability to prepare reports, correspondence, and memos
  • Maintains accurate and complete records
  • Works independently under general supervision, uses initiative and good business judgment
  • Ability to plan, organizes, and prioritize, multi-task and use time effectively
  • Ability to read and interpret written information, and follow instructions
  • Ability to perform in a high pressure, quick and dynamic environment
Skills and Experience:
  • 2-8 years of industry experience
  • Bachelors degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program
  • EIT required
  • LEED Certification preferred

  • Ability to apply prescribed techniques and procedures in accordance with established criteria to perform assigned tasks as a part of broader assignments
  • Has the ability to work with multiple site base files oriented in different coordinate frames and varying units
  • Experience in putting together plan set packages and providing redlines for drafters
  • Proficient in assembling and collating plan set packages
  • Construction Documentation experience on Commercial, Institutional, and Residential projects

  • Proficent in CAD
  • Working knowledge of Windows
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Working knowledge of Google Apps
  • Knowledge of GIS and Adobe Creative Suite preferred
  • Knowledge of Civil programs preferred (Civil 3D, LDT, Hydro CAD, Flowmasters, Storm CAD, etc.)

Who you are: * Graduated with a BS/MS or equivalent, preferably in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, EE, Math, Physics) * A very technical, senior, SME in networking, core infrastructure, with the ability to pull it all together, knows Splunk and can connect all of the dots in between and improve the organization. * You are comfortable navigating with all levels including senior management throughout the firm. * Worked on high-available systems within the financial services sector What you've done: * Intimate knowledge of Windows Server platforms and Windows administration. * Set up VMware /Citrix * Understand networking/design skills which include things like routing, switching, Ethernet, F5, TCP/IP, packet trace and analysis What you will do: * Work with other teams and colleagues, reviewing, analyzing and debugging Windows, networks, systems and, applications issues to prevent future ones. * Create documentation that gives guidance, creates standards and procedures, product assessments, and training material the includes (application and infrastructure support teams) * Serve as the technical resource and provide technical knowledge in outage management and solutions improving user experience.
