Designs subsea equipment for the product and project level scopes of work. This will include completing design layouts, bills of material, technical documentation, and drawings in accordance with OSI and contractual requirements. The Design Engineer is responsible for technical accuracy of the engineering designs for which they may be assigned. The Design Engineer is responsible to maintain the schedule with respect to release of the engineering documents for which they may be assigned. The Design Engineer may have direct technical interface with the customer's technical representative.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare design layouts in accordance with OSI and contractual requirements.
Prepare bills of material in accordance with OSI and contractual requirements.
Prepare technical documentation in accordance with contractual requirements.
Prepare and supervise detailed drawings created from design layouts in accordance with contractual requirements.
Prepare design calculations in accordance with OSI and contractual requirements.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervision of subordinate employees.
Assist other department employees as may be needed.
Review other engineering documents.
Perform load and stress analysis.
Requirements QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
BSME or equivalent accredited engineering degree.
Three to seven years experience with mechanical design.
Working knowledge of computer and software.
Solid understanding of structural and mechanical design concepts.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to understand and interpret codes such as ASME, API, ANSI, NORSOK, etc.
Frequent standing and walking.
Some lifting, bending, kneeling and climbing.
