Design Engineer Co-op, January 2019

Hasbro is currently recruiting enthusiastic, technically curious & creative engineering students to assist NERF, Supersoaker, and Preschool Engineer Managers in the development of our products. You will learn how a toy is developed from initial concept in the U.S. to production overseas.

We also offer a unique opportunity to our students by participating in Hasbro's Co-op EPIC group project. Co-ops work in teams to bring an idea for a Hasbro product to concept stage. This includes presenting the idea to business partners at various checkpoints in the process, and prototyping the concept for presentation.

Product Development Engineering

  • Build, assemble, test, and debug proof of concept breadboard models & prototypes

  • Collaborate w/ internal partners & outside vendors to develop new mechanisms & technologies

  • Create SolidWorks models for rapid-prototyping

  • Provide technical advice and feasibility assessment for new product concepts

  • Communicate with cross functional teams (Marketing, Design, Project Management, Quality, Legal, and Hasbro Far East Engineers) on product content issues throughout the prototyping and development process

  • Research, develop, and test new projectiles


Must be a current undergraduate or graduate student studying Mechanical Engineering, 2018 graduates are not eligible for our Co-op program.

Must be available to work full-time as a co-op from January 4- June 28

Co-op assignment can be either a mandatory or optional requirement for graduation

Preference will be given to candidates with:

Completion of at least one year of study towards a BS in Mechanical Engineering

Samples of product design engineering, mechanism design (please include in your application)

Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator

Working knowledge of SolidWorks and/or Pro-E

Excellent communication & interpersonal effectiveness skills

Strong time/project management skills & the desire to build/expand competency in this area

The ideal candidate can provide projects or products via an online portfolio/links/attachments showing Solidwork, product development or creative projects outside of school

Candidates are responsible for their own housing & transportation (FREE Parking). Hasbro headquarters in Pawtucket, RI is 1.3 mi from the South Attleboro, MA commuter rail station and we offer shuttle service.

Interviews will be offered in October 2018 via on campus interviews, SKYPE or on site in Pawtucket, RI.
