Designs new products and improvements and maintains existing products with focus on wiring harnesses and electrical component integration, in off-highway vehicles.

1.Design and maintain off-highway vehicle wire harness cabling vehicle integration layout, detail, and assembly designs to meet system wiring requirements (functionality, wire size, wire separation, retention, grounding, fusing).
2.Follow design guidelines to define materials (wire, sleeving, sealing) and parts (connectors, retention mounts, power distribution, splices), to create 3D CAD layouts and parts lists, and draft wire diagrams and harness assembly drawings.
3.Collaborate with the other engineering personnel to coordinate the interrelated vehicle design to integrate electrical components and cabling and assure project completion within project timing, budget, and reliability requirements.
4.Evaluate wire harness topology and partitioning, and wire harness complexity to product plan including give-away circuit management.
5.Schedule and facilitate design reviews with other functions within and outside of CNHi.
6.Conduct design analysis and facilitate building prototypes of components and/or assemblies to assist in the development process by ensuring designs are cost efficient, manufacturable, serviceable, and reliable.
7.Confer with management, production, and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.
8.Direct component and field testing of products and systems performed by field staff.
9.Support customer service, training, and technical writers in electrical system and component operation, service, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
10. May provide technical leadership and assist in training less experienced engineers.
11. Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

The qualified candidate will have experience with the following:

A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline.

The preferred candidate will have experience with the following:

Previous relevant work experience with off-highway equipment and/or wire harness development

Hands-on experience with construction, agricultural, or other related off-highway equipment

Experience with ProEngineer Creo and TeamCenter CAD tools and data management

Experience with VeSys Capital CAD tools

The level of this role will depend on the years of relevant experience of the candidate.

Job Summary: Reporting to the Supervisor, Engineering the Electrical Design Engineer will plan and design electrical equipment and the installation of that equipment, wire routing, and electrical bonding/grounding. Job Responsibilities * Provides support on a project involving multiple cross-functional teams, focusing on delivery of local program work packages, within prescribed time frame from initiation through delivery. * Routes wiring harnesses in aircraft monuments in parallel with other design activity. * Designs ground bonding system and some electrical equipment placements in aircraft monuments in parallel with other design activity. * Designs in accordance with Customer and internal requirements. * Applies standard techniques involving innovations of methodology to provide solutions to problems involving a limited number of variables. * Participates in the selection and application of materials and processes appropriate to each design element. * Checks engineering packages. * Regularly communicates issues and status with cross-functional team and adheres to a design schedule. * Participates in design reviews throughout each phase of the new product introduction process. * Coordinates work with other engineers and operating groups to facilitate participation of various organizational units. * Communicates effectively and professionally with customers and suppliers, translating technical information. * Performs conventional engineering tasks that may involve equipment or product design, preparation of specifications, process studies, or research investigations. Minimum Requirements * Bachelor's degree (B.A) in Engineering from four-year college or university and a minimum of three (3) years related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience. * Experience with CATIA V5. * Ability to work with a low level of supervision and intervention. * Effective oral and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications * Previous experience in 3D electrical wire or mechanical plumbing routing. (Highly preferred.) * Experience in electrical equipment design and installation. * Previous experience in the aerospace industry. * Sufficient engineering capability and experience to create effective engineered solutions based on interior design experience of commercial aircraft galleys and other related monuments. * Knowledge and demonstrated application of Team Center or other similar PDM software. * Working knowledge of the various methods of manufacture to be employed such as: * Machining * Vacuum forming * Injection molding * Composite materials * Trim and finish * Good team working skills.
