Job Description:
As a Design Engineer specializing in bearing assemblies, you will be instrumental in conceptualizing, developing, and refining our product designs. Working closely with our engineering team, you will utilize your expertise in CAD software and bearing technology to create robust and efficient assemblies. Your role will involve collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest standards of quality and performance are maintained throughout the product development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop bearing assemblies using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor) while adhering to industry standards and specifications.
- Apply your knowledge of various bearing types, including Taper Roller, Spherical Roller, Needle Bearings, Thrust Bearings, etc., to optimize designs for specific applications.
- Conduct detailed engineering analysis and simulations to validate design concepts and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless transition from design to production.
- Participate in FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) activities to proactively identify and mitigate potential risks in the design and manufacturing processes.
- Perform dimensional and tolerance analysis to ensure the accuracy and integrity of design models.
- Generate detailed technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM), to support manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and advancements in bearing technology and mechanical engineering.
- Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders, including customers and suppliers, regarding product design and performance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience in mechanical design, preferably in the automotive, aerospace, or industrial machinery sectors.
- Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor, with a strong emphasis on 3D modeling and drafting.
- In-depth knowledge of bearing types, principles, and applications, including Taper Roller, Spherical Roller, Needle Bearings, Thrust Bearings, etc.
- Familiarity with FMEA analysis methodologies and their application in product development.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in design work.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritize tasks based on project timelines and objectives.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies in mechanical design and engineering.
