Design Engineer

Description:

• Bachelors in Engineering.

• Experience with Solid works.

• 10 years of experience with design in a manufacturing/ IT type setting.

• Experience designing assemblies that include sheet metal, frame structures, plumbing, and electrical components.

• Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with electro-mechanical components, piping systems, pumps, motors, controls, or other industrial equipment components.

• Creates engineering change requests (ECR), and engineering change notifications (ECN), revises BOM, work instructions, and other design documentation.

• New product development team member responsible for the design for manufacturing (DFM), customer, and service (DFS).

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Ensures models and drawings are dimensionally accurate based on the material specifications and verify the fit-up of all related parts.

• Utilizes and maintains SolidWorks PDM vault for change control management.

• Supports sales, application engineering, assembly, supply chain, and customer or field service to determine the root cause and corrective actions for component/product issues.

• Provides 3D and cutaway renderings of products for marketing literature, training, and instructional documentation.

• Works with suppliers and outside engineering consultants to resolve technical and supply issues, improve system features, capabilities, cost, and quality.
