Daikin Applied is a global leader in providing innovative HVAC solutions for commercial and industrial applications. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Designer Intern to join our dynamic Engineering team. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in the field of Design and Drafting within a leading organization.

Timeline: May-August 2024

• Will learn sheet metal design, coil design, and other sections involved with HVAC equipment

What you will do:

• Create full-scale 3D models using SolidWorks of HVAC components and assemblies

• Understand project requirements from Engineering and Marketing, plan out your project and the parts you need to design and execute your own mini-design project

• Create a summary of the project/s worked on at the end of the summer and present it to management

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year in Mechanical Design schooling using SolidWorks (1st-year student at a 2-year Technical College or 4-year Product Design Major)

• Exhibit a basic sense of mechanical aptitude

• Demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos

• Ability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship

• Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to using Excel formulas or programming
