This position serves as a key team leader and an active participant in making strategic decisions affecting long-term growth and profitability of the Johnston & Murphy and Trask women's footwear businesses. Oversee all product design and development processes of women's footwear and leather goods categories in accordance with current business needs and future strategic direction. Additionally responsible for coordinating all cross-functional departments including merchandising, retail operations, marketing, wholesale sales, and supply chain teams for unified execution of the women's footwear initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the VP of Design and Development to formulate women's strategic and creative direction for Johnston & Murphy and Trask brands.

  • Drive a performance oriented culture and fuel a team passion for creating innovative, high quality footwear and accessories.

  • Research and identify current and future market opportunities institutionalizing analytical methodologies the determine design direction and target markets.

  • Lead and direct a creative team providing key ideas, methodology, and brand positioning.

  • Motivate, mentor, and supervise design and development team to create compelling and trend appropriate product introductions on a seasonal basis.

  • Manage all design stages establishing artistic strategy, budgets, and schedules to ensure timely delivery of projects and departmental handoffs.

  • Implement and institutionalize product development processes and handoffs from initial design concept to fully commercialized product execution.

  • Plan and deliver marketing and retail training support for seasonal product launches while meeting specified quality, performance, cost, and margin criteria.

  • Create and maintain the product design/development lifecycle calendar, adhering to key deliverable dates on a seasonal and project oriented basis.

  • Formulate key partnerships with retail merchandising and wholesale sales teams to ensure unity and alignment of seasonal goals and execution plans.

  • Coordinate with sourcing/supply chain to evaluate manufacturing partners and build strategic global alliances.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field of study.

  • 10+ years relevant experience in women's fashion footwear design and development.

  • Demonstrated experience managing the full product development lifecycle, including product briefing, conceptual crafting, patent assessment, product line development, costing, prototyping, specification development and overseas manufacturing.

  • Complete working knowledge of current footwear manufacturing techniques and expertise necessary to oversee and direct all design and development processes.

  • Ability to construct, articulate, and implement strategic and tactical development plans

  • Highly creative with a passion for fashion design and keen understanding leather, textiles, and color concepts.

  • Proven ability to build strong partnerships, analyze market positioning, and implement current fashion trends into commercial design concepts.

  • Experience leading a footwear product team, combining process management with the nurturing of a creative environment that encourages new ideas and innovation.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to adapt quickly and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong blend of analytical, decision-making, and creative problem solving skills.

  • Keen understanding of the nature and objectives in building and developing strong relationships with domestic clients and international manufacturing partners.

  • Domestic and international travel required.

The PI Senior Director - Nursing Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) is responsible for successful implementation of assigned Performance Improvement Throughput and Unit Utilization projects and engagements. The Nursing SMS will work directly with Division representatives, Facility management, Supply Chain, CSG, and PI team to collaborate and deliver timely and value added assessments, action plans, and PI results that help improve facility nursing operations. This individual should possess excellent communication skills, proven motivational capabilities, and a demonstrated track record of delivering results and attaining goals. * Apply Nursing management experience at assigned facility to improve quality and operational efficiency. * Assist facility leaders to implement best practices within the Nursing departments and identify clinical improvement and cost-savings initiatives. * Synthesize data and communicate findings to facility executive teams to aid them in addressing capacity and patient throughput barriers. * Assess cost-reduction opportunities including: * Appropriate administration and management of Nursing departments * Assess skill mix opportunities, house wide scheduling, agency nurse usage, and staffing for nursing units. * Supply, medication, and resource utilization * Clinical nursing service assessment * Service line analysis * Supply chain optimization and contract buying for specialty units * Assess department operational efficiency and quality opportunities including: * Nursing best practice models * Core Measures, Medication error rates, bed tracking systems, outpatient holding, and other Nursing quality initiatives * Provide project management in clinical and operational consulting engagements: * Adherence to timeline and budget * Creation and provision of internal and customer-facing deliverables * Coordination of internal content experts * Perform data mining and review of financial and clinical data to assess Nursing, bed management, operational process and financial opportunities. * Use extracted data to quantify the financial impact of Nursing cost saving ideas. * Design meaningful and realistic action plans for the implementation of process improvement ideas. * Assist in ensuring that all Throughput and Unit Utilization solutions presented to facility executive teams for approval will maintain or improve patient safety and are consistent with regulatory compliance policy. * Participate as an active member of the Throughput and Unit Utilization Teams and work closely with the Team Lead and Site Lead to develop and submit throughput solutions and idea forms including cost savings quantifications for ideas pertaining to Nursing. * Independently lead facility Nursing meetings to identify and follow-up on bed management and operational process solutions and cost savings ideas. * Facilitate and lead multi-disciplinary teams to support PI projects across the HCA enterprise. * Demonstrate the ability to facilitate "Rapid Design" methodology in order to lead teams in brainstorming sessions on identifying new process improvement, throughput, cost savings and/or revenue enhancement opportunities. * Master the use of the PI toolkit for all phases of performance improvement projects, including at a minimum: * Portfolio Development Phase - Bed Management, Throughput and Unit Utilization Tools, Operational Interview, Observations, and Assessment Tools, Standard Data Reports * Design Phase - Solutions Database, Facility Executive and Team Training Materials, Meeting Templates, Executive and Work Group Meeting Tools * Implementation Phase – Metric and Financial Tracking Tools, Solution Follow-up Meeting Minutes, Intervention Strategies, and Implementation Reports * Follow the defined methodology used to support PI projects in the field on an ongoing basis; provide feedback and lessons learned on the methodology and toolkit documents. * Participates in updating the PI Bed Management, Throughput and Unit Utilization toolkits and other process improvement methodologies for for departmentally focused engagements and projects in areas such as Bed Management, Emergency Department, specialized nursing units, and throughput related departments and support services. * Actively communicate with facility, division, and corporate stakeholders to manage the project expectations and activities. * Develop, execute, and maintain project work plans for each current project and work directly with the department local leadership and the core team directors. * Builds and maintains strong, effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders across HCA. * Practices and adheres to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and "Mission and Value Statement".
