Job Summary

A successful Design Applications Specialist understands the requirements of a project by reviewing construction documents and specifications. The DAS effectively communicates with our sales agents/customers in order to design factory drawing layouts that meet the projects application. Requested deliverables range from factory submittal drawings, lighting layouts and/or 3D models.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

• Design factory drawings based on construction documents, specifications and/or sales agent/customer directive i.e. fixture schedules, details, single line diagrams, etc.

• Utilize Adobe Illustrator, and at times SolidWorks, to create and review factory submittal drawings.

• Possess and maintain a solid understanding of Alight product lines and Acuity controls products portfolio.

• Manages own workload to ensure projects are completed on schedule, with the supervision of the manager

• Supports our sales agents/customers as it pertains to project specific technical questions for their product applications

• Collaborate and assist on special projects through teams and/or on site meetings with the ASM, Engineering, Design and Development and Inside Sales teams

• Actively contributes to a culture of problem solving and continuous improvement

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

• Bachelor's degree or relevant technical experience

• 0-2 years' experience

• Understanding of 2D drafting

• Strong Design and Analytical Abilities

• Basic/Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (including, but not limited to, Illustrator)

• Problem Solving

• Comprehensive understanding of Engineering documents

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work semi-remotely (required on site 2 days a week minimum)

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Basic/Intermediate knowledge of SolidWorks a plus

• Customer facing experience preferred

The range for this position is $37,400.00 to $69,900.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant's experience and geographic location.
